Jim's deathless prose amounts to this absurdity - strongly held opinions have no place in football communities. There are only two kinds of supporters. Those in the corporate boxes of dreary statistics, feigned expertise and pretentious gravitas. And there is the outer and the terraces. Where supporters boo and cheer FFS. Has ever been thus since Spartacus put some poor sod to the sword. Jim Main indeed.

Sure he isnt blameless, but the club has to take some of the responsiblity too.

The fact that Davis isnt a "yes" man (which Roos wants) seems to be lost on some. It has even been said that Roos feels its his duty to make people, in his eye's, better people. What gives Roos the right to change anyone's personality or charachter? it seems that Davis is a pretty normal kind of bloke, with a healthy ego who just happens to be able to kick a footy better than some. But he wouldnt conform, so he had the black mark against his name and it wouldn't matter what he did, life wouldnt get any better at the Swans.

Confidence is a big thing in any profession - when you are being told by your boss and his lackies that you are not good enough, lack passion, that you have to abide by some so called "blood brothers" code, and then there are clear consessions that some players get and others dont get ( premiership credits anyone?) - surely that would get to you eventually.

As I said I hope he gets picked up by a club that appreciates what he can do,that he wont be worried about showing a bit of flair, not being curtailed in his style of play and that he doesnt have to become a clone of the rest of the team. Good luck Davo - I hope you make them eat their words.
A young bloke at the Miranda supermarket told me he is OK. And thats fair enough. Its his performance on the field that has been inadequate. We cut him more slack than most.

Stuff this Premiership Credits rubbish - the above mentioned people played different roles.

I'm sure super Nick could play in the ruck, play on the wing, play as a tagger and probably all at the same time

Nick was / is over rated, if he was so wonderfull why were Collingwood so reluctant to let him go

Davo has always been over-rated - especially by himself - ala I'm going to win a brownlow this year (c. 2005/6??).

Collingwood wanted to keep him. That's why that peanut Greg Swann doesn't like him.

Ablett can get around every week doing sweet F.A, yet still keep his spot in the side - those premiership credits definitely exist.

what ever you say (with respect Annie) - I dont agree with you - and to be honest I reckon Davo was taking the piss re the brownlow - but then it takes all sorts.

we could go round in circles for months on end about this - there are those of us in the Davis corner (a minority according to Sprite & some person in Singapore called CKJ) and there are those - a majority apparently who aren't - so be it. I cant be bothered arguing anymore.

He, LRT and Benny have one redeeming feature that Kid Terrific lacked. They had a go. Covers a multitude of deficiencies.
