    Or an informed opinion?

Clearly 14 other clubs recruiters thought so as well.

I am really devastated. This has been totally political and unbelievable. Talk about favourites with a coach.

None of the handling of Davis has been done correctly.

I will never forget his brilliance that was never used and added to in the correct way by coaches.

Obviously O'Keefe isnt staying either - obviously more politics. The way O'Keefe is playing around with the Melbourne clubs - or should I say carltank are definitely carltanking and the damn AFL don't give a brass razoo.

Melbourne clubs are all they care about. They can have their pick of players in the draft and can float under salary caps and no one gives a care. We are Melbourne clubs. AFL will support us as we are always loaded unfairly.

Team will be completed depleted now.

I feel completely let down today by all concerned.

I am really fuming about how the Swans handled the whole of Nick Davis's career - they didn't do it at all well. Total talent that was never utilised.

        Love those Swans

I may not know the full story, but it helps when you speak to one of the recruiting officers at the other clubs.

No matter the reasons for Dick Navis' departure, I shall forever remember him in the red and white for two main reasons:

            1) Those 4 magical, unforgettable last quarter goals in the 05 semi.
            2) His first game against his old side in 03 at the Telstra Dome when he kicked a goal from 45 metres out on a tight angle to send Collingwood packing after they were storming back.

All the best Nick and thanks for the memories!
            Swannies for life!

Still doesn't cover my original objection though - that he is entirely to blame.

That last quarter of the Geelong game in 2005 is etched in my brain, I can play it out without switching on the telly. But that's the only one. Its sad, because he is so good. But can any of you tell me what Davo contributed in the GF? No? Me neither. Its a case of a grand Coodabeen. And that p****s me off. Guess I will just file the EF as his finest hour, umm 15 minutes (of fame).

                  Sad to see him go

But one must question why he's been the only named delisting??

I have a feeling it's to create more room in the salary cap and throw a bit extra at ROK, and possibly a 4th year.

A sad day indeed..As others have said, from the outside looking in, the Swans have handled him badly. While some people respond to the big stick, others don't. Clearly Davis is in the second group. Possitive incentives may well of had the desired effect that the big stick didn't, we'll never know.
Roos, and the dreaded leadership group, play favourites, and reading about disquiet amongst the troops is of no surprise. The way things are going we'll end up with a team of loyal, hard working, ORDINARY, footballers. No Davis's, no Lovetts, no Schnieders. etc
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

A very disappointing decision and one I feel the club will regret at some stage next season. With Hall's commitment questionable, O'Loughlin a hamstring away from the end of his career and O'Keefe likely to walk, our forward line does not look that imposing any more.

diappointing, I agree, badly handled by the Swans. Supporters should no why, and dont give me the storey would not chase. Many a talented half forward renowned goal kicker slacked in the chasing criterea, look at Brad Green who the Swans were looking at, when do he ever do hard chasing. More to this than meets the eye.

                            Very sad.

I know a lot of people out there in RWO land are happy with this news, but realistically all that has happened here is a demonstration of poor player management.

With all the area specific coaching that gets pumped into football teams, it staggers me that nobody has been able to work through the problems Nick has to capitalize on the enormous talent he has.

If he gets picked up in the PSD by another club who can work with him to deliver his potential then I will be telling a few here to eat their @@@@ing keyboards!

As mentioned elsewhere. I truly believe the club has gone off the rails with its decisions...Schneider,Shaw and now St Nick...so much so that I doubt I will be renewing club membership after 22 years continuous...I am truly horrified by these decisions...
Davo, good luck to you if you nominate for the PSD, and I do hope you have the opportunity to teach those mush-brains in our list management area a lesson in the future...thanks for your fantastic contribution in the past, and thanks for steering us to the 2005 premiership...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

i think the club has handled davis poorly and i hope it does come back to bite us in the ass in a small way, he deserved better.

But without harping over the same crap i will just say i think the club has made a huge mistake and diminished our already poor scoring ability even further. IT seems our club is only after lowly skilled hard working slog types.
