Good luck to Cuz and the Tigers and congratulations to Kevin Sheedy for going into bat for Cuz so heavily. Like he says, everyone deserves a second chance."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I was lsitening to Pert radio this week and a lot of weagles fans were saying they would be prepared to tear up their eagles memberships and follow the tiges....
its sad that we as a society praise those in normal circles for trying to turn their life around, yet if they are a celeb or sports star its unforgivable, like somehow they are immuned to lifes pressures...Comment

The Swans give you a lot of highs, for example:
*when we come back from nowhere in the last few seconds to win after playing crap all game;
*when Goodes runs absolutely brilliantly through the midfield and then kicks the goal;
*Kirk tackling himself into the ground;
*when Bazza has a half decent game, takes a mark (contested or not) kicks a couple of goals and doesn't break anyone's face.
But bloody hell what I would have done for the buzz of Cousins being in the team. Would have made what could be a relatively tough season very exciting.
Looks like the Richmond fans will get that feeling instead. Oh well, we'll probably pinch someone in the next few years with all that freed up salary cap. Have to have a look at who isn't signed up for the long haul in other clubs.Comment

We are almost there! Only a few days and this thread will finally die!
Picking up Cousins is going to win the Tiges a flag- give me a break!! They have far bigger problems in their team that can't be solved by one recruitment. No doubt it will help them, but they are still nothing but a mediocre mid table team!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

This bull-dust put out by Richmond that this is not about the Richmond club but about giving a bloke a second chance is vomitous! It has NOTHING to do with giving him a second chance and EVERYTHING to do with Richmond. If the player was someone like a Jeremy Humm or even a Rohan Jones then there'd be no interest at all in second chances. At least be honest Richmond, you are recruiting him because he can play. Come out and say that and you'd generate a little bit of credibility.
And let's stop this crap (even on this message board) about a second chance. He's had a heap of chances. The Eagles must have given him half a dozen that we even know about! And why? Because he can play! So what must the Eagles have known to have cut him and refuse to entertain taking him back? I suggest a lot that will never see the light of day (not unlike the report on the WCE). He's a drug attic who cavorts with the underworld and flaunts this image he thinks he has of being somehow an infamous rebel. He's smug and self focussed, shows no contrition and gives little respect to serious drug testing. I'd prefer someone like Luke Vogels to get a second chance. At least he earned it!Last edited by The Big Cat; 12 December 2008, 07:29 PM.Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

(a) How our club had fallen to such desperate depths.
(b) How our club could reward a player whose cheating probably cost our team a back to back flag.
(c) How our total team values had been pitched out the window in pursuit of a possible (and I say possible advisedly) short term gain.
(d) Why we were destroying the respect we have with all groups in the footy community.Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

I'd be screaming my lungs out alright and I'd be on the phone to Sydney asking:
