Whatever membership option I decide to go for, I know I won't be forking out the extra for premiership club because we are not a realistic chance of making it to the GF. One also has to wonder why there has been a continuing trend upwards in the additional cost to be a premiership club member. The "gift" you get has not suddenly become more expensive, so what other reason is there for this except money grabbing. At least if the football department decisions were showing a definite attempt to reinvigorate things, you could claim it would be worth it....

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I'm just keen to see where we in "the red zone" are shuffled off to when the reconstruction of the NAB & Bradman stands are under way.
think its a bit stiff for those who's fees have increased substantially - and Premiership club wont be needed for a few years so that will be a saving for some.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

We only vote for two members of the board...a minority...This club has never entertained a common franchaise for its members. This is a token vote in response to criticism of the club during the "choose Roos" campaign.Except for Paul Kelly and one other the remainder of the board are appointees.....they do not face election. In my view they are merely a business oligarchy no matter how sincere they are about the game we love.

From a public liability perspective, kick to kick on the SCG after a game may not be a bad idea. That tunnel under the O'Reilly-Messenger-Bradman stands after night games is a Hillsbrough waiting to happen.

Oh no, aother cap. I hope this one has a better design than the last few years with that stupid looking redneck front part. What about a scarf instead.
What about a bucket hat instead? Something different. I didn't even wear last year's because it was so uncomfortable. Too much white on it as well. The more red on the supporters gear, the more it stands out (2005, 2006 Grand Finals anyone)

St Kilda fans got a scarf AND cap last year. I wonder why we JUST get a cap.

I'm sure the swans will be delighted to take your 1500 ROK, although what the swipe about criticism meant I have no idea. But you do live in the ACT so....
How about you try a Chelsea membership for size?
SEASON TICKETS | Chelsea | Tickets | Season Tickets

              ?855 is a steal don't you think!

Or try the Toronto Maple Leafs ice hockey team for size. Average ticket prices are CDN$120.And season ticket holders have to enter a contest whilst writing a 1000 word essay as to why they should be given priority to even renew This in a country where the average people earns $8-12/hour.

I have few complaints about my Victorian membership to be honest. I rarely even look at the brochure much. I know what I want & that's that really. I have 3 games in Sydney I can use if I want to (SCG games would be a huge advantage, why are people only just allowed to go to Homebush? The SCG capacity problems are long over surely ) I get my finals ticket priority by being in the Cheer Squad, so no need for Premiership Club. It is all rather painless to be honest.

I'd love an away match (AFL) membership that included every away match plus 2-3 in Sydney. Tickets are generally not that expensive interstate but know you have a seat would be a huge bonus to be honest. especially for games in WA against the Crows & even the Lions (due to the set seating in Brisbane)

And they think building a new stand down the Randwick End will fix the problems of arguably the worst ground in the AFL (along with Subiaco)?

I hope the Swans have done their maths, because you can bet that everyone who is being whacked for an extra 25% for their (SCG) platinum seats will want a seat upgrade at ANZ to go with it if they currently have an (ANZ) gold seat.

There are more than enough "platinum" seats at ANZ to accommodate.

One very important thing has failed to be mentioned.
The groups of people who sit around each other who have become great friends overs the years (post 96) since the membership grew. And earlier of course

I myself have attended weddings, birthdays and even a funeral due to the friendships I have developed through where and who I sit with at the games.

I joined the Premiership club 2 minutes after recieving the letter in the mail but most of my friends are Full members or Season ticket holders due to financial reasons.

Now where all Gold members on the concourse.
A number of them (6) have told me they are quitting their membership, Some will move because they love the team, Myself....Hmmm I've only missed about 10 games over the last 18 years. I'm thinking about the second Sydney team. They may treat their supporters with a bit more respect.

The following are qoutes from Myles Baron-Hay regarding the new memberships

"In addition, we conducted a number of focus groups to gain feedback on a range of planned initiatives. Bottom line is, ?you spoke, we listened? and we have taken stock of the feedback and captured it in the new packages as best we can."

Rubbish, I attended one of these focus groups and most people were concerned about the splitting of groups. They did not show us the pricing and only asked us what we thought of the packages. They ducked and weaved around the whole subject with Corparate maketing bull.

Don't be fooled. This is a classest money grab. And yes I am bitter about it.

I actually think the new Vic memberships are pretty good value.

The new premiership club package is great at only $329.
                          • That includes all the swans games in Melb,
                          • Access to Level 1 on the dome when they play there,
                          • entry for week 1 and 2 of the finals if the swans make it (previous few years have paid a bit for finals tickets),
                          • guarunteed ticket to the grannie.
                          • 5 non sydney games in AFL members,
                          • 3 ANZ / SCG games

or I can downgrade to a membership without grand final guaruntee, only preference, for only $249.

that is incredible value. A possibility to get entry to 10+ games plus finals in decent seating areas. Then if I want I can pay extra for a GF ticket, which I may not this season (or will that jinx it?).
                          Onwards to Victory!
