We renewed early so as we could qualify for 'no price increase next year" . Chose not to move seats, (being a bit traditional) paid the extra cost only to have most of the facilities around us at the SCG closed! 6 womens loos for many bays to share on the concourse up the Brewongle end, main bar up the end remains closed, largest hot food bar closed.... makes queues really long, cant make it back to my seat in time. Tried getting four beers at once but that only made me need to wee more. Membership Department should make sure that their supporters facilities are still looked after surely after a price hike.

an ISSUE... that I am passionate about!

Sean X our marketing/membership manager in the mid 90's...changed this Swannies club!

(No it aint me)......But I like to think that I know him well

The membership debarcle this year is a disgrace (it would be a disgrace to any "sausage on a roll" outside the ground seller...(notice they have also disappeared?)

Complete @@@@@@@ up!..... couldnot get thru to renew.... complicated parraphenalia..... late... Late..... FARRRRR too late...... TICKETS!

IN THE MID 90'S SEAN REALISED .....SYDNEY WAS A DIFFERENT MARKET ....he observed AND LISTENED

There are dozens of bands and record companies who will gladly give their right arm have the privelge to play a few songs at 1.30pm or if early 12.30pm...match day to 10-20K public .........FREE! It sets the scene and there will be more "early turn ups" next time =greater overall turnup

was then....... would still be the same

SACK THE LOT... all of them!

How dare they ask a team to bleed guts onfield when off field they make it quite clear.. they are an arrogant disorganised..... disinterested RABBLE!!!

As for the price hike...... get ******....never again will I wear that without better explaination than .....have another cheap hat!

I can understand your frustration but there's really nothing the club can do about the facilities. That's an SCG issue - you'd need to take it up with the Trust.

I have and the Swans, they are the ones who jacked the price up not the SCG. Membership reserved seats with no facilities should be REALLY cheap.

From what I remember you were locking in the price for next year, so if they drop the prices (as now seems likely) you get to pay the same as you did this year...

If they apply a price reduction unevenly, that will alienate another group of members! It just keeps getting worse and worse...

                    Yep, i understand everyone's frustration.

My Bronze was upgraded to a Silver - and with it an $80 price hike. Ludicrous in the current climate. The end result should therefore be no great surprise.

Membership dept clearly failed Risk Management 101.

As residents of the former Bay Hatley when at the SCG we were also advised that the interchange bench would be moving down a tad and were given a choice of toddling to new seats or staying. We opted to stay (I assume we can still toddle off elsewhere if we wish to) and the interchange bench now restricts viewing in a line between it and the near behind post at the far end of the field for us- it means we can't see any action in about 1/4 of one wing and the majority of one pocket of the ground.

The interchange bench had to be moved, I accept that, and we were also given the option to move (but I believe they suggested up into the stands and we like being down in the bays)- we can live with it but the thing that amazes me is that the price wasn't dropped because of the restricted viewing- we had an increase in cost just like everyone else!

I'm so over this club and the membership department. First my father requuested his same seats (x2) in Bay 27 that he has had for 3 years. I wanted to take one of his seats this season and was assured by the membership dept that this would be simple.

The club sold had since sold the seats to someone else but assured us they would find similar seats on the aisle in the same bay. My father and I had upgraded to premiership club however when the passes arrived we had been given seats that were in different rows. Had to go down to the club to ask them to fix it and the guy assured me it would be fixed. Well got the so called fixed memberships yesterday. Have now been moved from Bay 27 to Bay 18 at the SCG.

FFS what is wrong with this @@@@ing club and the membership department. This is so @@@@ing frustrating. Now I'm going to have to take more time of work to ask for this to be fixed again. Add to that we have been members since 1994 yet membership cards now say 2006. I can totally understand why members are giving up in their droves. Sack the lot of them in the membership department.

The Vic clubs usually have the players get together for a night to call their lapsed members trying to win them back! I can safely say if one of our boys had put us on the spot over the phone, we may have weakened and signed up again!
I asked the membership guy about this very issue and when asking about reports in the paper that we have lost 5,000 members. His response was it was too much to expect of the players to ring lapsed members.

We had the same problem and it resulted in a drop from 9 members to 4 as those in the family gave up in the red tape. We eventually got relocated to Bay 30 next to the players race. I accept it wasn't the SCG or Swans who wanted the bench moved - it was the AFL - but in my opinion Bay 32 had the best ground level view of the ground, now ruined by the bench as you pointed out. *sigh*

Thats amazing that you couldnt get seats in B27 area, there are so many this year that are vacant (both games) that were filled last year . I thought maybe everyone moved up the new stand because there was a secret email circulating that I didnt get letting us know there would be limited facilities in their old area . I would be checking and double checking that they havent actually stuffed up by telling you there are no seats. There were lots of casuals sitting in 27 against Richmond, lots of Richmond supporters who didnt look long term as well as empty seats!
