I think Tadhg has a deal to learn about Aussie rules after this statement

but Irish sport is completely different. In Ireland, players compete for their counties, their local clubs and their families. There is more passion and players are driven by a different culture.?

I hadn't thought of that, but you could be right.

Kennelly knows he won't be back - realfooty.com.au

Looks reasonably certain. Expect a retirement mid season. His body seems shot.

Did you read the same article as I did?

Body (with the various op's) sounds good and he is going to throw everything he has into this last year.

Let's he can go out in style with a preliminary or grand final.

Yep, that's what the article said. But didn't Tadgh have the same ambition last year?

Didn't realise he'd missed so many games. The number of games he, Melcho, Goodes, Hall, MickeyO have missed or played carrying injuries in last two years, you can't help think what might have been.

Don't worry - RL called Crouch's retirement 2 years ago - on current form we can expect Tadhg to be going round in 2011.

i think he is one of the few people who could teach us all a thing or two about the culture of aussie rules in comparison with that of gaelic football. i think it's entirely likely that afl is nowadays largely played with of a sense of professionalism rather that straight out passion.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

AFL has been professional for a while now, Gaelic is still amateur.

And what a success Crouch's time on the injury list has been.

I love this bit from Kennelly....

"But first there is a season to be played, and while people talk about our old list and so on, you wouldn't be playing or training in this heat if you don't think you could win a premiership. The team has been around, we've been through a bit and we know people are saying things, and all that's doing is giving us motivation more than anything else. Don't worry, we'll be ready for this year."

...That's enough to make me want to get up and move mountains.

This rumour just ain't going away, it normally fades a week after it's annual outing in the media. I have a source who 'swears' Kennelly is on the way back, and will not play for the Swans this year.

EDIT : I'd like to point out that I have no way of knowing whether or not this source is reliable

If the source is from Tyrone then save us all the trouble.
