Bevan: How long has he got?

Surely this spud has to go, he can quater back somewhere else because he's a disgrace to the Sydney colours.

What is he doing for our team that no one else can do?

We've managed to weed out Ablett, Bevan should join him asap and let some of our talented kids cement a place in the team.

You know about the pictures right?
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Geez, you were quick onto that!

I thought he had improved this year (not to the level connolly praises), but let himself down today. His main problem is he can't play on the last line. Always a disaster waiting to happen.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Unfair judgement. Only bad game this year, and has improved alot from two years ago. Great mark, alright kick, and just constantly goes at the ball. Tough and doesn't give up. Still pick him week in week out, but if anyone has to go its Buchannon.

Bevan is always one possession away from disaster, if he does something good he'll be guilty of a complete @@@@-up two minutes later.

Happy for others to disagree, but imo he needs to go.

He won't get dropped. Just had a shocker today. It happens.

His spoil in Q4 was very good, but then he does something elementally dumb like the kick-in. He has been playing better this season and last but he gets badly shown up against a team as skilled as Geelong. Although he's not alone there.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Bevo's OK (but only just OK). He had an absolute howler today but should not be judged on that performance. He's a good ordinary player. Will never be anything more, will occasionally be a hell of a lot less.

One bad game the guy has against the best oppostion in the land and the Bevo Knockers come out of the woodwork.

Had a shocker , everyone has one and he pulled a ripper.

                    Hell bounce back.

Agree had a shocker - however I wouldn't be sacking him. He usually does a good job on the small forwards.

I would like to see him in the middle occasionally or go forward..

                      He will bounce back

BBBH to be dropped prior IMO - he was equally as bad. Ever since he went on the irish tour a couple of years back, BBBH hasn't had a good game against him! Told him to many secrets...

*breathes* Perhaps not sacking him, but he needs to be dropped. When was the last time he was dropped?

Had an absolute shocker, but he's been good this year. It occurred to me today as I watched him being beaten at every aerial contest that we really don't have a genuinely good small defensive defender. Bevo is an average small defensive defender. Easily in our best 22, but a third tier player. But he's being put on the best small forward each week. Sometimes, it's a fairly even contest, and he can do well, if the opposition relies on big power forwards. But against a team like Geelong, that get the majority of their goals through smalls, he was put on Steve Johnson, a huge mismatch in terms of ability, simply because we don't really have another option. In the end, Craig Bolton, Mr. Fixit, was put on Johnson and shut him down, but that then left Mooney to feed on Richards, who is not at his best one on one, and Stokes, who I rate very highly, was also too good for Bevo. We need a small defender one step up from Bevo, who can take the gun small forwards and let Bevo worry about defending a lesser opponent and applying general defensive pressure and putting in the one percenters around the ground, which is when he gives his most.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

There actually aren't that many Bevo knockers on RWO. It's just that connolly is constantly comparing his to Judd, Abblett etc - which forces people to correct him, making it seem he is being put down often.

Saying Bevan isn't Ablett is hardly knoocking him.

He's not a small defender, he isn't agile enough to handle the quick goalsneaks and tends to lose his feet after a marking contest. The thing about Bevo is he has to realise his limitations. We all love his hardness, but sometimes he has to think before he launches willy-nilly into the contest.
