Obviously had a shocker, but even then, put his body on the line till the very end. Malceski however.....
Bevan: How long has he got?

Its more than his inability. His pass to jolly in the centre square with three geelong players on him when we were 15 points down was close to the dumbest pass of the day (i am not quite sure mattner's pass of 3 metres in the second quarter wasn't actually worse but it wasn't as disastrous)
he was badly outplayed by every player he played on. but it is hard to single him out today exclusively. we are simply not a very good one on one defensive team - does anyone else hold their breath if teddy is one out or malceski is one out or lrt is one out. None of them i would back to beat their opponent one on one at least 2/3 of the time - the team is very ordinary defensively at the moment.Comment

He had an absolute shocker of a game. He was one of the worst, if not the worst on ground (apart from Bad Tantrum Barry Hall). He might be dropped to the magoos but we'll wait and see.I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Poor Bevo. I did laugh at the commentators saying he would be praying for Mother's day to come.
You could see how gutted he was by his game. I'm not going to put the boot in as he has improved a lot.
Bury that one in the back of the cupboard.Comment

Bevan is exactly why we have been so successful. He would die for the team and should always be picked as long as he is fit. You could have played silvani on Johnson today and it would not have changed the result. The kids cant play yet its as simply as that. Nothing wrong with the mainstays.Comment

I have said it week in week out, he has to go. I think the count was 7 goals that he cost us today, way up on his average of 2-3 goals a game that he usually gives away. Today just showed how inept a footballer he is.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Just for the sake of us who obviously aren't as savvy, would u please detail the 7 goals he cost us ????Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

I think we are all being a bit too cruel to Bevo.
He didn't play well, but he was a bit unlucky. Most of goals kicked on him we're the result of good Geelong team play that just happened to end with the man he was covering. Also took that big hit that must have left him a bit sore for the rest of the game.
I think we just play him on the wrong opponents. He doesn't play well on quick and shifty players, like Johnson and Stoke. He would be much better value tagging a Bartel or Corey, skilful players that are not that quick. Or play him in the forward line. He's a good mark and kick and can play the role of the forward line defender.
We almost need Crouch in the team, just to take the pressure off Bevan to do these unsuitable defensive roles.Comment

Perhaps the coaches figured this afternoon was a good opportunity for few players to get some experience playing the best team in the comp. Bevo perhaps needed to play on Johnson et al to get an inkling of where he has to to be aiming next year or the year after. We weren't going to win this afternoon and we won't win the comp this year.Last edited by Cant turn right; 9 May 2009, 07:37 PM.Comment

Spevo is so far off being an AFL player it is a disgrace that he is on our list.
And I haven't even seen today's game..."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

I dont think it would be too hard to find bevan responsible for 8 goals.
3-4 johnson
3 stokes
1 pass to jolly
1 very slow hand pass from three yards out.
some of these bolton may not have been able to stop but its not hard to say he was responsible for a number of their goalsComment
