Why? We have always hunted marque players. We have plenty of headroom under the salary cap (particularly with the job being done on Big Beamish)We can offer him the biggest contract in the game (or could have before Dick put us in the red by stiffing the punters). He's unhappy at Freo. With Goodsey and Pav kicking it to each other we would be final four material. Or do you believe everything Roosey says to the media?

I just done believe the Swans is a club Pavlich would consider.

Firstly there are plenty of melbourne and two SA clubs that would probably be prepared to offer similar money.

Secondly we arent his home town

Third, we cant offer him the same sort of adulation and exposure he could get in adelaide or melbourne and he's not it seems trying to get away from that sort of life.

Fourth - we arent considered by anyone except our own faithful to be likely premiership contenders in the next four years or so.

Our most successful gains are players wanting to escape from the fishbowl existences in melbourne and other southern states. Pavlich just doesnt fit that mould in my opinion. Hall did perfectly.

Dont get me wrong I would love to have him as he is one awesome player.

I'm not sure if it is shown in Sydney but whoever watched Footy Classified last night would of heard what Garry Lyon said about Barry Hall. He said that Hall continues to let blokes like Brett Kirk down and he should be sacked. The part about Kirk is absolutely true.

If Dicks involved its Fev. Otherwise its Pav who is out of contract. A huge payment which we can offer him (no Hall, no Leo, Tadhg, Fossie. Magic) and a team that at least has a go unlike the Anchors.

And for the really hard part....what do we give Freo in return? IMO early draft picks, from the last uncompromised draft for years, would be suicidal.

As far as the actual incident goes, BFD.
It was a minor incident and we don't know of any provocation or retaliation that was involved.
I can't believe that there are people here who weigh up what Hall brings Vs On field incidents and want him gone.
Football seems to be new standard of moral ethics that which we all have to live by.
And what really gets me is all those people out there who see footballers in general as neanderthals one day and then the next come out and sook that they aren't good role models.

To a degree Hall = Symonds as far as how clinical and sanitised sport is becoming.

To quote myself and clarify....

Hall seems more desperate to play, and very passionate for the game and the Swans.
He's had chances, and personally I believe he deserves more chances, particularly considering the lack of severity of the incident in question.

From all that's been put out there, one would come to the conclusion that Hall's future career with the Swans is in serious doubt.

I'd say that talk of his replacement may be a bit premature though....

On topic, I agree with how Roos has handled this. When will RWO stop treating Hall like a child and expecting Roos to pick up the pieces time after time?

Hall has made so many promises, he'll focus on footy and try to quit belting people. Well, Hall, you haven't quit belting people and you can't control yourself. Go to anger management, go to the Bahamas for a week, do something and get your big ugly head right before you step onto the field wearing red and white again.

My defence is that the game is soft and that the line between acceptable and unacceptable aggression is starting to veer more and more to the soft side.

However, I don't think that there are many others here who are in line with that reasoning, and I'm ok with that.

I agree the game is soft, I also agree that he was unlucky with those 3 50's (the 2nd one which led to the 3rd) but hitting Rutten was just a really dumb move and shows that he hasn't learnt a thing. It's a huge shame because he's in good touch, but then he does one stupid thing and it all turns sour quickly.

Do I think we're a better team without Hall? No. Do I want to see him playing well and playing with that grin on his face? Yes. Will he fudge another chance if given one? Probably.

No, but you should be. There's no way Collingwood would give up him up cheaply. He'd be a decent trade target, but we're not chance of getting him as a steal. The only reason he's not quite a fix in the side right now is he's not fit enough to play big minutes. Once he gets there he'll slot straight back in and he'll be as dominant as he was last year, and the Pies know that.

Yes he could have, and I can blame him for being fed up and not handling it better being a professional, who was speaking not in a reactionary way right after the incident, but days later after careful thought.

Roos is the one that made Barry a co captain. Roos is the one that chose Barry to be the p'ship captain. Roos is the one that brought the best out of Barry when he took over as coach. Roos is the one that taught barry to be a selfless player in 2004 - 2007! Roos is the one that gave Barry another chance after the Staker punch..................& after the Wakelin punch.................& after the three 50 metre penalties that helped blow our finals chances!

Green is the one that is interfering with things that the club are trying to do with Barry. Barry says week after week, newspaper column after newspaper column how he wants to play on & finish his career at the Swans.

Barry, the selfless footballer, the clubman of 2004 - 2007 is no longer available to Roos.
Barry the selfish person that needs EVERYTHING going his way, is now a danger to the young players on our list & a danger to anyone one else on the football field.
Barry needs to move on & get on with the boxing show. Roos needs to move on & get on with the Swans show!

Here's the thing as far as I'm concerned; two guys have done something that is a bit silly and is made worse because cameras were turned on to capture it, both of the guys have form for what they've done and should have known better. One of the guys acted instinctively, however the other guy had the chance to sit and carefully calculate his actions.
