Sack Robert Walls and Tim Lane

I have simply had enough of having my football enjoyment severly reduced buy having to listen to these two clowns.

Tim Lane and Robert Walls even when they are not commentating on the swans are as boring as watching paint dry.

When is Channel 10 going to treat their viewers with respect and put in commentators who actually sound excited about watching a game of footy.

If i get enough interest i will start up a petition to Channel Ten regarding this. In the end this is a democracry and they have to start listening to the people!

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, TV is not a democracy, it's a business, and they don't have to listen to us.

Why should footy be any different to any other sports? It must be a prerequisite to be a commentator these days that you only need to be able to babble inanely to get a gig.
Just listen to the mind numbing cricket commentary we have had to endure or the appalling, infuriatingly irritating crap that was passed off as tennis commentary.

Gone are the days when the call a game or report on a game.

They now think we want their opinion.
I'm glad they have one, but I don't want to hear it.

There's only 2 things Tim Lane can commentate on:

          The Mardi Gras and Netball.

The commentary for Tennis only matches the sport itself!

They are grooming Luke Darcy, which is fine by me as he is fair and equitable. Tim and Robert can't live forever......perhaps they could get Nick Davis! Or my favourite, can't stop the man talking, funny bloke, dry dry dry, Paul Williams.

Call the game gents; expert commentary is supposed to be just that. You need experts to do it, a little little bit at a time, when it is warranted. And throw in a dose of respect for the viewing public, especially the audiences north and west of your borders.

I thought Robert Walls was very complimentary in the call to the Swans. He even pulled up Lane about his negative comments once.

I taped the One HD coverage as it showed more details than the Ch 10 edited one replayed later.

                    Different strokes I guess.

I reckon Courier does a good job.

I'm clearly in the minority but I didn't have any problem with the 10 commentary as I've said in other threads.

I'm usually as quick to jump up and down about anti-Swans bias as the next supporter but nothing I heard the other night fitted that description.

I thought their comments about our youngsters were quite glowing in fact.

I'm with Hammo about this. I was at the game, so only saw the edited version of the broadcast that channel 10 showed late at night, but I thought the commentary was fine. The commentator I dislike the most is Malcolm Blight - he whines about everything.

Agree, I thought the commentary was ok and walls actually said some positive comments about the swans for once, nearly making me fall off the sofa!
