I'm beginning to think that we can drop the 'disguise' from the blessing. He's too slow and turns the ball over too much. He's a liability when in our defensive zone because he can't take more than a couple of steps without getting tackled. We look a better team with someone like Heeney playing his role.

Let's get the best trade we can for him and move on. I'm sure he'll do well at a team that needs a good ball winning inside midfielder, but that's not us.

If we can't get a good KPP in exchange for him, I wouldn't mind going into the draft with 3 picks inside 40. I think there's some reasonable talent this year in areas that could help us down the road.

Yeah same here. As long as it's not Hawthorn I'm not bothered by his departure at all.

It saddens me that all our father-son picks have been stolen from us by other asshole clubs.

Well with Hanners skills deserting him and if Mitchell's gone, it's a bit of a worry!

                By "all", you refer to:

Gareth John - delisted in 1993 after a short injury prone career and then drafted by North

Heath James - delisted and re-drafted a couple of times in another injury plagued career before finally retiring

Stephen Doyle - retired after a long time bridesmaid to better ruckmen

Sean Demoster - who we traded to StKilda even though he and Schneider bith wanted to stay.

I guess you might want to include Anthony Daniher's kids (Joe is the only one of any merit), Dunks Jr (but we passed on him so it's our fault there) & David Round (who didn't really trouble the statisticians. But we never had them so I'm not sure you can count them as stolen, per se.

Tom Mitchel is a gun see ball get ball player. His disposal is not elite by foot. It is by hand. Happy to keep but if we can't would love an elite running half back to replace McVeigh with elite disposal. Can't have to many of that type of player.

Is it me being delusional but I feel that Tom's form has dropped off dramatically since he and his manager have started playing silly buggers with the contract talks. A month ago he seemed to be signed sealed and delivered but the talks are held off until the end of the season which would indicate that he wont be staying. If that is the case I hope that he goes to any other club except Hawthorn and that we get a suitable trade for him.

The club needs to say hey Tom, until you sign it's the NEAFL for you

The delay is likely due to the delay in the collective bargaining agreement with the AFL.

There should be a ban for player agents talking to media about contracts during the negotiation process his agent seems to like a money grub who likes to see his name in the paper

Yeah I heard he met with Clarkson the day after our game. And now with the news that contract talks are on hold until the end of the season he is definitely gone. I just hope he can still give us 100% until the end of the year and not play like Jetta did.
