I don't think BB means anything untoward. After training Hodgey just hangs around the likes of the Platinum Room and the Legends Lounge in the Hawks establishments getting drinks and smokes for the regulars so they don't have to leave their machines. Hodgey regales them with some footy stories from his halcyon years, and he earns some extra tips that way. It's all fairly harmless, Hodgey's a bit concerned about the second hand smoke thing but with the free samples he gets with his new Rexona sponsorship he barely works up a sweat.

Defensive? Just asked you to back up your statement that the Hawks are cheating the salary cap. In the same way that many of us have asked others to explain similar slurs levelled against the Swans over the last few years. Pretty simple really.Comment

Interesting that both Hawthorn and WC lost a ruckman last week and both look likely to miss most or all of next season. Also both clubs have been linked to Tom Mitchell. Both clubs are in real need of a good inside midfielder and a ruck/forward. And we've got them in Mitchell and Sinclair.
I would package them up and sell them to highest bidder. I think it should take their first round picks for this year and next. There may be some compensation either way depending on the final ladder positions.Comment

Would we get rid of Sinclair so soon? He was meant to be our saviour, in support of Tip of course, but would be behind Naismith now obviously. I think the Swans hierarchy may be enjoying their ruck depth at the moment, Naismith may be injury prone, and even with Nanka in reserve, I suspect they'll keep Sinlair.........and when does Tom Derickx contract finally run out??Comment

A not very cryptic tweet. Unless he means Kane
Looks like the Hawks will be doubling up next season. #mitchells #SuperCoach #AFLFantasy

Vickery is a free agent.
If Mitchell wants to stay, he will have to accept a contract somewhat less than he can get elsewhere. I wouldn't blame him for going to any club that offers him a considerably better deal. My own feeling, as I have stated, is that it will be hard for the Swans to meet the contract demands of so many good midfielders and if we can get fair compensation for Mitchell, we wouldn't mind him leaving.
It goes without saying that we will keep Heeney and Mills at all cost. I think it's Hewett and Jones that will be upping their demands in their next contracts and Mitchell just happens to be the one out of contract now and having a good value. In 3 years he will be a free agent and he will most likely be gone anyway. I think Tom is very good player on his way to perhaps being elite, maybe even a serious Brownlow chance. But we can't have everyone, as a wise man once said.Comment

Andrew Ireland was on SEN this morning and says Tom wants to stay and the Swans want him to stay. But the cap is tight and any decision will depend on the increase the new collective bargaining outcomes has on the future TPP. Ireland says the club won't guess or assume increases as this approach may come back to bite them if not accurate. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

I also heard on SEN this morning that apparently the swans are only offering Mitchell $380,000. If this is true then I don't blame him for looking elsewhere. The swans probably feel that he was paid overs for his first contract.
