We were watching it at a friends place. Reg had us laughing the way he timed his runs so well all day. Would just saunter through and take off with the ball. He and LRT were amazing, as was Mumford (and Bradshaw) and...........

I got there mid-second quarter. Ainslie were in front (on skills and on the scoreboard) up until the beginning of the third. Ainslie used the ball very well ... two kicks and they were up for goal. Ainslie also were very loud on the ground - they spent the game "speaking to each other". Sadly, I was the loudest swannie on the ground!! Swans spent a lot of time passing back and forward to get a goal - mostly into heavy traffic, which doesn't really help the cause. They've got to learn to look, then kick.

          Highlights:

The last quarter, the Swans got their "acts" together and blew Ainslie out of the water. Pity it had to take three quarters to do it. Swans remain top of the table, Ainslie in second place.

In the final quarter it was a bloodbath. I can see where a lot of players would easily make the senior side, but it was only in the final quarter that the game blew out.

Trent Dennis-Lane ... great mark for goal and can kick from a very tight spot.
Vez ... brilliant. I would go as far to say a Kirky in the making! Not scared to get in there and put himself over the ball.
Henry Playfair ... a pity he can't get a spot on the seniors.
Cheesy ... played a good game ... got to improve to make the senior squad.
          Bevo ... saved the game.
Ranga ... a beautiful goal on the run. Needs a bit more time in the ressies, but has the potential to be a gun. (Although he was going for a run down the Brewongle wing, and although we screamed "bounce", took one step too many and passed the ball over!) Roosey picked him up on it at 3/4 time and the seniors had a good laugh.
Sumner ... injured. Had a car accident a few weeks ago and damaged his back. He and Jetta are my new adopted nephews.
Lewis Johnston ... kicked four or five. I'd love to see him have a run in the seniors. Maybe towards the end of the season when we're so far in front it doesn't matter!! (Can't argue with today's team kiddies .... it's gunna be a rough journey for all the ressies if they want a game).
Teddy ... played a fine second quarter ... then was taken off to pre-game training with the seniors.
Mike Pyke ... is coming along well ... although he needs a little more game time. For someone who has come from no-mans land to AFL-land, he's doing pretty well. Unless hell freezes over, I don't think he'll get a run in the seniors this year.
Matty O'Dwyer ... another I'd like to see have a run in the seniors. Although, not likely this year.

All in all a great game. We were sitting down near the Paul Kelly race and all the seniors came up through the second half and had a look.

Longmire watched the whole game. Roosey maybe two quarters.

Didn't see the game, but I'd love some opinions on my thought that (from what I've heard) the Swans seem to be running out the games far better than their oppositions.
could be a bit of a problem against better sides, but is obviously a big advantage is accurate.

That usually is the case when you're playing at the Oxford Street/Paddington end............................................... ...........

It was so hot and muggy today even during the last quarter. The Chardies in the Brewongle were warming up in minutes. Certainly looked like many of the weagles didn't cope with the humidity.

At the end of the game, Bolton had the ice off the ankle and still limping as AnnieH has previously reported.

Missed the ressies today unfortunately. Great to hear Johnson and Dennis-Lane going well.

Some good points from todays game was Moore's effort. Why did McVeigh win the best on ground today as announced during the trophy ceremony?

How good was that Grundy tackle where he twisted the player round and was awarded a free kick.

Jessie took another great contested mark and had a hand in a few others. He is playing his part and leaving the starring role to DB. Will DB be the first player since Plugger to kick 10 goals in a game? He could have done it today if he handed missed those earlier ones.

Jack's bump was right in front of us. There was quite a few good team goals today.

Another percentage booster game as well.

happy with todays win, ball control is pretty good. Probably still not quite getting full reward for our work. Most pleasing thing i think would be white getting a bit of confidence from todays game. I also thought jack was awesome

Very happy with today, a bit scrappy in 2nd quarter and the weather was well... weird but great to see another solid win from a team that looks more and more cohesive every week.

From the stands the ball was rebounding out of defence easily, LRT and Grundy could do no wrong. Delivery to Bradshaw excellent and he always seems to be in a better position than his opponent. Jack had some pinpoint passes (after a couple of clangers), the long run and goal and of course the big hit in the 3rd quarter.

Watching the recording really highlighted the midfield - McVeigh excellent (apparently has changed his name to Mark according to the commentators), Goodes and O'Keefe popping up everywhere. Also Shaw's best game of the year so far. Couldn't really fault anyone today; a very even contribution across the board.

Bring on Brissie next week. Grundy and LRT to handle Brown and Fev and there's not much else to worry about right?
