You can't blame the ground for the atmosphere. I've been to the SCG many times when there has been no atmosphere either.

Hint: Has to do with the size of the ground and the size of the crowd.

We should be grateful that we have a venue that can host 75,000. SCG CAN'T do that.

        So qwityabellyaching!
        Spot on.

It's all about the size and attitude of the crowd. I'd take a packed ANZ over a packed SCG any bloody day of the week.

And it's a great venue to have people from outer-Sydney come to the game... it's great marketing for AFL in Sydney.

I wish you bellyaching latte-sipping inner urban types would just get over it! Besides, last time I checked, the SCG was made of concrete too....

So it's only these types that don't like ANZ is it? Take it from a whinging beer guzzling westie that that isn't necessarily correct.

I'm sure there are plenty of types. But the ones that seem to whinge the loudest and annoy me the most are inner-city types.

Watched the second half with my old man in the pub.

He was concerned that I was getting a little weepy when Jets slotted his goal. It wasn't my fault, it was the reaction of his team mates that pushed me over the edge.

              Good times.

I live on the Central Coast and while I think ANZ is great when it has a 50,0000+ crowd and the team is actually able to win games there, it sucks otherwise.

Given how badly we play out there it mystifies why any Swans supporter would enjoy seeing Sydney play there. Perhaps Mike is really a GWS fan, even if he doesnt realise it yet.

It got a little dusty in my lounge room when jets finally did it. Was jumping around as quietly as I could as a my sick wife and 1 yr old were sleeping. Good times indeed.

Be an interesting team selection this week if LRT Rohan & Smith are fit. A fit Rohan might be useful on the expanses of Subiaco.

If Sandilands is missing next week, I give us a real show against Freo.

Oh, and Pyke had another good game, turning into a gem of a find.
For the record Mike had 5 marks and 12 hit outs. From those 5 marks he had 2 kicks and 3 handballs.

                      Good game?

The 2 spuds for Hawthorn had 7 stats between them but Taylor had 15 hit outs.

Just a quick couple of thoughts:

Oh lordy how dangerous did we look inside 50! Jesse crashing the packs and sending hawks spraying all over the ground was a joy to watch. Was good to see him get some fearsome into that frame. Trent was sublime - he's the general down there who knows where the ball and players should and will go. I credit him with making us look as dangerous as a cut snake down there.

Defence! I know Buddy got 4 in the end, but at least two of those were soft as. Grundy can hold his head high, as can Teddy, for brilliant spoils and intercepts today.

In both 50's the ball went to ground alot, and what was impressive was how often a Swan was the first to it and got it clear to a team-mate. The rebounds of Mattner and Kennelly definitely picked up the game today.

ROK - Coming back into form. Got enough ball and showed the touch that has been lacking of late.

Jack - I'm sorry, was Hodge playing? Killed the contest and won plenty of ball (and goal!) himself.

Pyke - Boy's got his confidence up. Some nice grabs and good tapwork again.

The first half we blew them out of the water, but it was great to see the boys respond when the Hawks hit back in the second half. We managed to hold them out as they pressed and then punish them on the return, and that was the most pleasing thing of all. Hawks looked much more dangerous in the second half, but only won it by 3 points.

With bells on. Still get it out when I am having a sulky after a crap game. Lifts my spirits. Every time. Still.

Worth noting that ROK played on Hodge for most of the game. Did a brilliant job too.
