Jude will play a really important role next year mentoring our young tough midfielders such as Hanners, Bird, Kennedy et al. I think he'll be able to step up for another year at least.

As an aside, was listening to SEN on the way to work the other morning and Mathew Lloyd described Mitchell as the best underage inside mid he's ever seen - said he is super clean and the only downside is he has a weak right side.

Can't wait.

Given our goodbyes to Kirky (..and Henry) the ages of our elder statesmen next year are:

28 LRT & Richards
29 Mattner
30 Tadgh, Shaw, ROK
31 Goodes, Jude, B2
33 Bradshaw

You would have to say that Goodes, ROK (groin pending), LRT & Marty are good for another 2years.
Shawy & Tadgh (pending his arm doesn't fall off) will have another season.

Braddy & B2 might struggle to stand upright.
Assuming pre-season developments, Richards & Jude won't make the best 22 next year.

As such - I have my fingers crossed that Reid, Johnston and Vespa will be given their opportunities.

With Gazza, Seaby & Meri also on the radar to step in next year - I am already keen on 2011.

Let's send a few of these guys off with a flag this year and start working on the next one!!!

Shame for MOD who I felt might have made it in better circumstances. Neither the worst going around so in some sense a vindication of the depth of our squad.

No shocks but its a shame. We all high high hopes.

Good luck to the both of them. I guess they must have been quietly shopped around during the year, but no takers. You'd expect MOD at the least to burn it up in one of the state leagues a la Faulks or Philips.
