With Boozola likely to be sacked, it creates a big hole in the Lions forward line. I wonder if the Club would look at trading Jesse up there considering he is from Qld. However, what would you get for him. Draft pick is useless this year.

i dont know why people think that draft picks are useless this year. A draft pick this year is exactly the same as a draft pick last year and the only difference from a normal year is that GWS and GC had priority access to the 17 year old who they could immediately sign.

In fact the 17 year olds who didnt get signed by GC will now enter this years draft making it marginally stronger.

I doubt Vossy will be trading away picks this year after its success last year though.

Yes, there is an impression that picks are worth less this year, the actual pick by number isn't worth less, it's just that the picks you are dealt for your finishing position (if you finish 10th por higher) will be nine further out due to GWS having 9 of the first 15 picks.

So pick 16 for example is still worth pick 16 (see below), it's just that the Premier got pick 16 in the past, this year they will get pick 25.

There is also a slight dilution factor with GC already having taken 12 underage 17 year olds last year out of this years draft pool and many of them were potential high draft picks so maybe pick 16 is more like an early 20s pick.

Thank goodeness for Tom Mitchell in next years draft. Lets hope next year young Daniher wants to be a Swan more than a Bomber, that would be like the 209 National Draft all over again!

When do we find out if GC Suns have poached any of the swans?

Kirk Barlow Thornton + Bolton's Achilles may well make the decision for him unfortunately

Any one else have a feeling the Jude might go as well.
Has looked a bit tired in the last few months. Started strong this year, but it looks like the game may have slipped by him recently????

Not going as well for sure. I've got no doubt he'll go again though.

Everytime he gets questioned he seems to come out and play well though, so I hope this is no different!

Jude will play a really important role next year mentoring our young tough midfielders such as Hanners, Bird, Kennedy et al. I think he'll be able to step up for another year at least.

I hope so. He may not have the finesse that some others have, but his energy at the contest and general work ethic is just what we want him to instil in the youngers.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Exactly-even when he looks exhausted Jude still manages to find the motivation and energy to go just that bit harder, with Kirky going Jude will be the one the younger ones look to for on field inspiration.
