Another sad part is that the backstabbing couple Johnson and Gillard are both happy tonight.

I'm nervous about their inclusion too but you have to have some degree of faith that Roos, Horse et al have some degree of competence in selection. Yes it sometimes goes wrong but as I posted earlier, on injuries, Leo shouldn't have played in the GF in 2005 and then I wonder how history would have turned out?

Let's hope we're praising their selection as an act of genius in a few hours.

I'm off to a mate's place with a bottle of wine. I hope it's enough. But no way to post till I'm home so -

      Enjoy the night folks.

      GO SWANNIES!!!!
I'm sorry and apologise. I was wrong: our selectors don't know what they are doing. In fact they are little better than Freo's. Not for keeping Moore in who who was great - especially in Q1 - but for Ben and Braddy. Poor choices as it turned out.

I'll probably watch that game again sometime after I settle down for a quiet night watching the 2006 GF.

Starting Pyke in the 3rd quarter, although not by choice, was a crucial mistake. Hudson dominated in the ruck and allowed them to mount their fightback.

How are people criticising the decision to include Bradshaw? He played a great game, took some great grabs as a leading forward that we haven't seen for 15 weeks. Sure he missed an easy shot, but that was not because he was not fit.

End of year form, we should have been in front of the dogs..... they will get absolutely belted next week, tonight now just feels like a nothing game.

Thank you roos a kirk, you have left us with an incredible team and an incredible ethos I would have loved to pushed St Kilda for a win next week

We would never have beaten the Saints, Magpies or the Cats anyway with all those old fellas in the team though the Bulldogs wont win either.
I guess that's the price you pay for squeezing out every bit of life from the older players.
We need to clean a few more of the older players out of the team and then we can have a proper tilt at the flag makes you wonder what would of happened if players like Rohan,White, Meredith and Reid would of played, we would of done a whole lot better with some or all of them in the team.
At least we won a final but what a missed opportunity.

It could of been the reason.

No but next week or the week after would have sealed the Swans fate.

Positive !!! Think of all the money we saved for the GF !!!
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

A prelim final spot was there for the taking and we didn't grab it. Mentally not strong enough.

Once we were 30 points up we just stopped and let them back into the game, that just shows a complete lack of mental toughness if you ask me. We had them bent over and we were ready to make love to them but we blew it.

                      The umpiring was @@@@@@ aswell.
I hate to ever blame umpiring but what was the final tally? It looked like every soft against us was paid and only the ones that couldn't be ignore for us.

                        A few quick thoughts:
1/ Benny McGlynn deserves the tough cookie medal for relentless play whilst his face is still sore and bruised
                        2/ @@@@ I'm going to miss Kirky
3/ Tonight showed why we need serial pest Jesse White
4/ Jetta needs to put some weight on so he can tackle effectively
5/ we really really need to work on the goal/behind ratio
6/ We have a very bright future ahead of us.

We lost intensity and focus but realistically we have done better that we ought (speaking for the whole season)

                        Bring on 2011

It was ours. We blew it.

Can't read this thrread til tomorrow, methinks. Gutted. Just gutted. I was fine until that last interview with Captain Kirk who kept trying to be kind, yet kept repeating ... "gutted; I'm gutted." At that point, my semi-gracious loss dissolved into sobs.

Next year in MCGerusalem, Swannies. We have a a golden team in the making. We will rise. We did better than They always say, and we'll do it again in '11 and even better.

are you serious? you think 4 younger kids would have helped win an elimination final???? insanity.

I felt exactly the same. I honestly haven't seen the tally (not that it matters much) but WTF was going on there? For some reason during the whole game I just felt ripped off.
If u don't believe me, I will knock your bloody teeth out and not pay you a cent.

I'll be at the Grand Final. I will have to take my Swans cap because the GF teams ones that are supplied would be rejected by my head. Cats- don't think so; Saints - ugg; Pies - bletch.
