He was also asked about out-of-favour Andrejs Everitt, who played 12 games this season and was dropped for the finals.

"He's a contracted player to us and we think he's got enormous upside," he said.

"He's developing like a lot of players on our list and I've got no doubt he's in for 22 games next year because that's the steps he seems to be taking."

    James Fantasia on Everitt.
Hoping to keep him or talking the talk?

Just discussed Swans strategy. Terry Wallace says that Jesse is Swans only KP forward. Can't rely on Bradshaw.

Need Sherman type player because of aging midfield.

Spoke with John Longmire, hasn't confirmed Vez isn't necessarily going as they have not talked to anyone. Didn't know what Swans would do but if a quality player is available especially if the player can play in multiple positions then they would be keen to trade or via the draft to get him.

LOL. They're not still pushing out that crap are they? Doesn't every side in the competition have a midfield that is ageing? (A forward line and back line too, unless Father Time is being cheated somehow.)

So...Vez may or may not be going. We may or may not be trading. Nice fence sitting Horse.

Kinnear Beatson pre-recorded interview now on.

Any younger than Hanners Kennedy Jack Merry Jetta Smith ect and we would be fielding U/18s. Even I wouldn't support them being that young.

They also spoke to Kinnear Beatson at the combine last year. Said Swans will not be as active as last year. Swans will remain open minded. Regarding Vez, he said Vez has expressed an interest to go place to Melbourne. A few Clubs are interested. Swans can still see a role for him at Sydney as he had a restricted pre-season. Rohan will improve further and really excited about Lewis Johnson.

Said they would pick best player available at pick 21 not any particular position. Just because Roosy has gone does not mean the Sydney recycling of players is finished. It was never a one man show.

They weren't critical, it was more me listening and typing at same time. They said Bolton and Goodes were getting on. Not the whole midfield group.

Get the impression from that Beatson interview that the club don't want to give up on Veszpremi.

Live chat is saying many Clubs are circling Vez so you can imagine he will be gone. Wallace saids he has a long good kick on him and this will be valuable.

This is all classic trading week talk. You never declare your hand. Once you say you want to trade a player, the less another team will be willing to offer you. Gotta make them work for it.

Anyone listening to Trade Week Radio? That must be an exciting call. (I can't, work won't allow streaming ... I could be lucky here)

Yes, it's Hutchy and Plough on at the moment. Plough had a lot to say about Veszpremi and homesickness.

Patty was a first round pick in the 2007 draft - pick 11. Unfortunately not many in Melbourne have any first round picks to give up for him. A second or third round pick would be useless to the Swans.

Everitt interestingly was a first round pick in the 2006 draft - pick 11.

So a straight swap would be a win win for both Clubs.
