Don't agree. The import of the rule I think can very easily be overstated. Put simply: no club would trade for a 21/22 yo for any meaningful value, unless it believed that he could pretty promptly make the first 18 (excepting perhaps a 2nd ruck). No-one would spend the value that we want for him, with the aim of putting him on the bench. Any club that takes him, is already taking a punt on him that he can stay out there for most of the day, without needing to take a breather every 7 minutes.Comment

If the Bevo story's true I assume it's because he's got an offer of a regular A grade gig and not because of being dropped for one game.
Will be sad to see him go. He's a quintessential Blood, tough, fearless, an absolute Cortina. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Bevo's not a star but I love the way he goes about his footy, he's got the most out of his talent. I hope he stays on because we need a hard nutComment

This article says we have both Vez and Jesse up for trade. Do they just make this up? If I were the Suns, Jesse would be better value than Cloke.

AFL live chat is saying Sherman to go to Dogs. Houli said he will stay with Hird. Vez direct switch for Everitt.
Both Hawks Beaus on trade table.

Sydney offered round 2 pick 39 for Tom Liberatore but Bulldogs have matched that with pick 40. Bulldogs offer their first round for young Wallis.
Wallis regarded as first round selection and Liberatore as Rd 2.
Swans have offered Sherman 4 year deal while Dogs have offered 3 year deal.Last edited by Bas; 5 October 2010, 09:15 AM.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

I wonder if we had genuine interest or were just forcing the Dogs to use pick 40 so we have some leverage in trying to trade for Everitt.Comment

If we are serious about Everitt it would take a player (Vesz) and a pick. Dogs would rightly drive a hard baragin because they now need some picks to either draft kids or on-trade for some of the other players they're interested in (Sherman).
The fact the Dogs are interested in Sherman will seriously clog up trade week and makes it less likely Everitt will be traded for anything other than a high pick (in my view)."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
