Did you see the way he went "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" to the crowd?**

I've never seen such a "big" "sellout" crowd of 37,000 odd people leave the ground so quickly in all my life. By the time the commentators came back from the last ad break to say goodbye, the only people in the stadium were the cleaners with their brooms. Funny.

(**While Jack Riewoldt will get fined for giving the Hawks bench the bird (while the Tiggers were being ripped a new one). Take notes Jackie you big girl.)
Suspect Dangerfield's effort against Freo might pip it, but Jetta's was a lot more important.

I'll have to watch it again, but from my recollections, Bird should have been the sub and Little Ranga should have started.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Unfortunately for Jetstar, after watching Dangerfield's goal against Freo, I think he's picked the wrong week to pull out that effort for GOTW.

Gearard Healy commented on how good Bird was playiing in his shut down role. You can't see that watching it on telly.

I think it was the "nectar of the gods" that may have been the problem.

I liked what I saw (only the last quarter as I was at Shark park seeing the boys in blue get stiffed by the refs against Manly - but that another story) I couldn't beleive that we just didnt cave in - I honestly thought that our boys were so spent that they just couldn't lift anymore - but they did. Mumford is amazing. Everitt is looking pretty good up forward. Josh P Kennedy just looked hot (as in delightful) and agree that Grundy he seemed out of sorts a bit. But a great effort by all of our boys they did us proud. Jude Bolton for Brownlow!

As an aside, someone should tell Q Lynch that he looks like a stupid sleazy porn start with that mo "boom chicka wa wa" - yuck!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Yes Grundy has been missing targets, but it is made hard on him and Mattner with players running on a lead full tilt towards the boundary, so there is little room for error. It is more his strength of kicking that is a worry when he goes down the centre or across the ground.

Here are the votes in the Sunday Herald Sun by Glen Quartermain.

                      5 Jude Bolton
                      4 Adam Goodes
3 Jack Darling (he can't be serious)
                      2 Dean Cox
                      1 Jared McVeigh?????

Gary Rohan had 9 stats in the last quarter, his only quarter. 6 kicks 3 handpasses ( I doubt they included his deft tap along the ground on the wing) 6 contested possessions, 12 pressure actions (yes, 12) Involved in 4 scores and got a massive 66 Supercoach points in a quarter. He came on fresh but gee those stats really stamp him as something special. You could see he was desperate for us to win.

Jared McVeigh and to a lesser extent ROK were the only negatives for me last night. Macca seems to be really struggling at the moment, maybe the Captaincy is weighing on his mind. ROK needs to try kicking it to someone from our team for a change.

Hated Sherman doing it at the SCG 2 years ago and think it's a bit arrogant and dickhead-ish. Hope it isn't a feature of his goal celebrations as doesn't do him any credit. Celebrate the goal by all means but don't put down the fans.

I'm not sure if he was shooshing the crowd or blowing the smoke from his smoking finger, but either way, I agree with LK, it just puts pressure on himself by being a bit of a dickhead (Sherman analogy is very apt and Didak *spit* is another one who likes the 'shoosh').

I'm sure somebody will say he is just being himself, but there will be plenty of time for those shenanigans later in his career when he makes his name as a top line player and excitement machine and recognised by the footy community at large. At the minute, he is just 'that guy who plays for Sydney who kicked 19 behinds in a row'.
