Geez your optimistic! Good teams like Collingwood and Geelong make poor teams pay.

We weren't dragged down to North's level, that is simply the level where we our team is at this point in time.

The pattern with Horse ,so far this season, has been to use a Wednesday morning press release to talk up the prospects of the player/ players ( from the 2's) he wants in the side.
He's done it with Nipper, Parker, Jonhson and Johnston.
So unless TDL completely stuffs up at training, it's a matter of who he'll replace.
It's hard to know who he'll replace, there doesn't seem to be an obvious candidate.
Maybe there is an injury we don't know about.
I also like the idea of Goodsey relieving in the ruck. Could be just the tonic he needs to get back to contesting for hardball.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

Horse has also done it with LRT, so I wonder if his role will change. I think it has to when Jonathan Brown is back. And I agree with people in the Currie thread, may be a good time to give him some firsts experience. And I like the idea of Goodes pitching in occasionally.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

AFL preview has us losing by 12 points, but that doesn't say much. Tougher game than I thought it would be a few weeks back

A fair assessment. The Lions are a much better side with their inspirational leader back in, he's a match winner. The Lions have an avenue to goal and whilst our backline have the ability to hold the Lions to a relatively low score, the Swans are no guarentee to kick a winning score. I hope Reid doesn't get Merrett, he's not strong enough yet. If he does, lets hope the other forwards are leading like loose canons and the delivery from down field is spot on. We will get beaten in the Ruck and the mid fielders will need to win the contested ball, a hard ask against Simon Black.

I think our Mids are better and we will shut down Black. Hopefully Seaby is better for the run last week. It's a bit of a lottery overall though I think. I'm leaning to the Lions I must say but we definitely have the ability to beat them. If we lose it won't be because we were beaten by a great side, it will be because we screwed it up. I honestly believe we are much better than them but I'm not sure things are in our favour this week - No Mummy/Jack/Forward Line. Crucial game though.

If their forwards don't have the desired impact and Tadhg/Marty/Nick/Rhyce rebound strongly we can put enough on the board to beat them though. So many variables!! Our defence was great last week but reality is if North kicked straight we wouldn't have been talking too much about the defence.

4 qtr effort from everyone this week. They speak about it all the time but i'm yet to see it. Macca/Goodes - step it up!!

                From Twitter

John Longmire has thrown up Jarred Moore, TDL and Brett Meredith all as possible inclusions for this week against the lions.

Ugh with Moorey and Meredithy, ugg.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Highly doubt we'll see more than one change, if any, and I think TDL is the only one with a realistic chance of getting a game this week ... Lucky we're playing sat night and will find out full team tonight!

Moore and Meredith must have played well in the two's. I don't watch the 2's so can't comment.I don't have a problem with a club rewarding players who star in the two's over those that flop in the A grade. That's fair. The fact that these two are not my favourite players is irrelevant,if they deserve it so be it! Fitting them in might be a problem as some structures are starting to show signs of working.Moore has a repuation for structuring our forward line. Go for it!

With so much discussion regarding our forward set up especially on this forum, maybe Moore may be that link that has been missing. He has always been respected and highly regarded by the coaching staff setting up of the forward structure. Food for thought?

I thought Moore trained the house down on Tuesday. Have to say tho that he is always an excellent trainer, but even then, he did stand out Tuesday.
                            I like him.
