Just watching the game compliments of Austar at Wodonga.
Listened to most of the game whilst in Melbourne today but is sounded really boring. Perhaps I was spoilt compairing it with the Cats Hawks game last night which was an incredible game to watch live.
The impression I got was that there was very heavy rain for most of the game but it doesn't look too bad on TV now. Melbourne had the same MMM commentary team as Sydney did (Luffy, Seymour and Frank). Which was interesting as 3AW flew their whole team up who are probably still enjoying Sydney tonight.
It was a win but the next two weeks will show whether we have improved since our last loss against Carlton and the Cats and Hawks.
Speaking of missed flights, Bruce Macca must be thinking another night in Sydney is deliciously special - CLEVER
BTW spending the night at Wodonga was on my Bucket ListIn memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

It beats me why LRT's name is consistently mentioned as someone to drop. It seems the fact he is playing 2nd ruck is the reason.
Under no circumstance would I drop him. His flexibility to play forward, back and ruck is invaluable.
To be honest, as much as we are excited about Johnson, LRT is a much better defender at this stage. If there is no room for him rucking or forward, then he MUST play in the backline.Comment

Wow that was messy but a win is a win. My few comments:
- As good as Goodes is, he has to do better. There is no excuses for a dual bronwlow medallist to not kick straight.
- Sammy Reid needs to work hard at his kicking. I have no doubt when he improves his kicking that he is an absolute GUN in the making. His marking today in very tough conditions was fantastic.
- AJ continues to look the goods and has a calm, collected way about his footy. I like him a lot, and even though he may at some stage make way, he has a very good career in front of him I think.
- Seaby was fantastic today. Worked hard round the ground, dominated the ruck and did well on a tough day to be a ruckmen. I do hope he stays in the team when Mummy comes back.
- Jack did really well as a sub. How we have missed him- he was very important in dragging us over the line in the last quarter.
- Jetta still is far from convincing. Still at times too much of a spectator, and he is too . Very happy with that set shot goal in the last quarter though- it was a pressure kick on the edge of his range and he nailed it.
- Umpiring was woeful both ways today. Some absolutely baffling calls and some absolutely ridiculous misses as well. The one that riled me the most was in the lead up to the Riewoldt mark and goal in the goalsquare. At the other end of the ground- can't remember whether it was the ball went out or should have been HTB or what it was, but I remember at the time it was a blatantly bad call and Richmond took the ball the length of the field as a result.
Wasting our opportunities against a team like Richmond may not be fatal, but against the better teams it absolutely will be. We did some really good stuff at times today, but our kicking for goal was woeful and we got too negative at times as well. A better team then Richmond would have punished us. Its been an issue all year and unless we work harder on the training field to solve it, then it is going to cost us badly at the important end of the year.
Saying all this, halfway through the season we aren't going too bad. 7 Wins, 1 draw and 3 losses is pretty good. Those 3 losses have come about against likely/definite top 4 teams. We need to show over the 2nd half of the season that we can match these teams. I'm not sure we are going to be able to, but the next two weeks will no doubt show us where we are at. Kind of looking forward to next weeks game in Melbourne- as long as the flights are operating I'll be down there for it."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Hey, I haven't seen LRT play defense at all because I'm a recent follower of the Swans. However, it occurs to me that LRT hasn't played in defense since sometime last year (i.e. a very long time). It's quite possible that he was great before his injury last year, again, I don't have a clue. However, we saw that while Jack did commendably today, wasn't up to his pre-injury standards. I don't think we can honestly judge that at this time today, LRT is still a better defender than Johnson.
That said, LRT is pretty important in terms of another older head on the field of pretty young guys.Comment

Drop Seaby - dreadfully unlucky
Drop LRT - dreadfully unlucky
Drop TDL - We risk going too tall in the forward line.
