I can, sure it will be tough but it obviously depends on the judd factor, also I dont think waite will be back for them next week, I am not judging them smashing the rabble brisbane today, anyone would at the moment. We are full of confidence at the moment and a win against them will give us a genuine chance for top 4 and the team will know that going into the game. And yes we touched them up at etihad last year, that would be very nice to happen again.

Positive thinking! I like it. If we put in a great team performance, we can definitely beat carlton.

Great game by Seaby. He is back to the same form before he did his ankle.

IMO he should keep his spot all year. Mummy and Seaby combo would work well.

          Random thoughts:

          - I was so impressed with Johnston. Good skills, calm, in good positions - everything you want from a defender.

          - Goodes was bad today. His kicking is so poor that I think he's a liability playing in that position. He should be either in the midfield or just outside 50. Put him right on or inside 50, and even when he does use his skill to get some marks, he's an iffy proposition with the set shot.

          - I don't know how Kennedy gets his possessions. I thought he had 2 at half time, and somehow he had 12.

          - Seaby was excellent this week, but against minimal opposition. He's been beaten the last few weeks, so I don't read too much into that.

          - LRT did not look good in the ruck. There were a few occasions where a throw-in actually hit the ground without anyone touching it (partly the boundary umpire's fault). Apparently Johnson played in the ruck at times in the U18s, but he's doing so well that Seaby would be the better choice.

          - We had a pretty good run from the umpires. There were some frees paid for holding the ball to Sydney in our forward line which weren't really there, particularly the one where nobody actually laid a tackle.

Yep... but who do we drop though??

            TDL??
            LRT??

Nice position to be in but a tough match committee this week.

Did Sam Reid only take 3 marks? I swear he took more.

Ah now that's the million dollar question. It is also the only really difficult decision left - ie Mumford would be only change to be made if whole list was healhy (excluding Bradshaw).

Can we drop a small for a tall?

I reckon they will drop TDL. For mine that would be an absolute joke, but they don't seem to think the same (2 games all season, both subbed off).

The biggest problem is that we aren't sure who to drop AND we are playing ordinary footy! Weird situation.

They'll have to drop a tall surely. Otherwise a forward set up of Reid, LRT, Seaby/Mumford and maybe Goodes might be too tall and will allow the Carlton halfback flankers to get away too easily.

Just don't ask me which one!

I was sure you must have misread the stats, but that's what it says. I thought he'd had at least half a dozen.

Jack will inevitably be a starter next week, so there is always the option of using a taller player as a sub. I'm not sure that they'd have the same impact as a small player, but it might be easier to play a tall forward line when their defence is a bit tired.

They could well bring in Mumford as a sub if his fitness is not quite right.

TDL would be the obvious player to let go, IMO.

It's more because the whole team including the four or so just outside the 22 are all about the same standard. That's good in many ways because a run of injuries is going to massively disadvantage us, but it also shows that we don't have many out and out standouts. We could bring white in for LRT and there would not be much difference, the same for Parker, bevan, Moore, Rohan when fit, and so on.

Mumford is an improvement over seaby but I like seaby and I think he is a fantastic second stringer.

I totally agree. Seaby was one of the main reasons we got off to a bright start last year. He balances out the side.

If Mumford is fit for next week, Longmire should only use him as the sub. Ease him back into it. Otherwise give his knee time to completely recover.

I reckon he had more than 3 too. That's got to be wrong.

I think it might be a mistake to drop LRT next week as well. Kreuzer is one of the better match ups for LRT as a defender, he would be too tall for Richards and probably too tall for Richards as well.
