I dont think Bird is actually bringing much to the table at the moment (and those stas really do show it). He remains very one paced and his skills are not and have never been elite. He is not winning his own ball and TBH Bevan is not much worse a midfielder than he is. I do think Bird has flattered a bit to date and the love for him on this website does always surprise me.

Would love to gloss over it and say he's OK. He's not, can't tackle, can't run, and generally is a dispiriting presence.

*With the pressure from 2s and players coming back from inj etc, its fair to say we need a bit more from Birdy. IMO
I added the TOG's that are available.
Prior to this he was playing pretty well

Unless there is a very specific role for him against StKilda next week I'd rather see Gordon given a go. He won't be puffing!

surely he'll play on dal santo - a similarly one paced inside midfielder ? and if not him who then ? - maybe mcglynn ?

and i'd probably play jetta next week. one of the things i reckon you need against the saints is an outside midfielder to break some lines.

Methinks Mr Drebin is trolling. Bird has been shutting down his opponents very well over the last few weeks.

I'm with Drebin on this one, good call. He is a poor athlete and a defensive liability, he is unable to tackle or apply pressure to an AFL standard.

Drebin is trolling because he's not singing the praises of Bird?
