TWR and Wallace said he got Morton across to Tigers. Wanted to do things his way. Very talented and played off his talent. Didn't want to chase and tackle and thought Sydney could turn him around. Has great potential. Was Father Son coming through before selections changed. He thought that if he was in the National Draft, he would have been top 8. Very talented player.

Seems Tigers couldn't deal with his off field problems and this year is included. Wallace says he would fit into Sydney very well and have an immediate impact. Just a matter whether the Swans can get him mentally around. The Swans did it with Rhys as Wallace pointed out.

I think its safe to say that hun true to form has got it wrong as By every other report it is armstrong, 35 + late pick for LJ.

Just out of interest, what would we be all willing to give for Walsh? I've heard pick 35 bandied about a bit, but personally I think that's a bit uppish for a guy who turns 24 next year, is yet to make his debut, and while promising, hasn't consistently lit up the VFL. We gave 28 for Mumford, who was the same age but had cracked a number of games in a Premiership-winning team, and if he hadn't tired towards the end of the year would have been a Premiership player. He is also a ruckman, and they tend to demand higher draft picks.

I'd be happy to maybe swap 43 for 60 or something like that, but that's about it. I'm hoping Walsh has his heart set on the Swans, and the Saints do a last minute trade. Hopefully memories of the Ball debacle force their hand!

We have a history of paying a high price for our perception of value instead of losing the opportunity to trade. I reckon its pick 35 for Walsh

They haven't even done that. Not only have they got the direction of the trade wrong (they said Armstrong and pick 35 FROM Sydney to Adelaide FOR LJ and a late pick), but they got the late pick part wrong. Well, right, but because they got the direction wrong, they got it right for the wrong reasons. It's LJ for Armstrong, pick 35 and the late pick.

EEk! no. no. its like a baby Fev! Unless he can pull his head in. We already are going to have to nurture Armstrong for a while. We are not exactly a nanny club.

                  What off field problems?
As for chasing and tackling, I don't seem to recall that being Tigers trademark footy under Wallace.

if we get Morton for nothign more than a late draft pick in this draft, there is no loss for either club or player regardless of how he turns out

Why worry about how we'll handle Morton. Davis was of similar ilk and effectively won us a premiership. All we need is one great quarter in the right game!

Trades starting to flow now with about 4 completed today.

I would have thought this Morton one would have been ticked off quickly. Perhaps it depends on what is happening with Walsh.

It's possible that what happens with Walsh will effect what happens with Adelaide (regarding the "late pick"), and what happens with Adelaide will effect what happens with Morton.
