A big pat on the back to the Swans crew in doing so well in tradeweek.

I like that idea of keeping 17 for Walsh.

I mean jumper 17 and not 22. Still too excited.

On Walsh: it has been reported that the Saints are real tight on their salary cap, so if they wanted to retain him they probably would have needed to offer him a bit more Laurie Nash. If we offered him somewhat more than the Saints could, then it was always going to happen if we came up with a suitable offer.

The 3 we picked up certainly gives a lot more depth. I expect our 2 picks in the draft will be on youth but if Macaffer is available I hope we pounce.

I would have thought that he played a very significant role in getting him to come to Sydney. I'm sure it was far more than just the money. Walsh would have seen first hand what was happening within St Kilda. OK the coach has changed but everything else has stayed the same.

We can now credit Tadgh with a new category of recruitment in AFL - The Countryman Rule.

Instead of waiting 20 years for the Father Son rule to eventuate, you get a fellow Countryman to replace you when you retire.

OK, now getting back to the title of the original thread, who will be delisted? Sumner, Meredith and Bevan for two young ones (P43 and P61) and a re-tread?

Seems that the 4 players into the red and white have a fair chance of playing football next year.

All three of the trades have bodies ready for football and would suggest will get a go early. Mitchell is very close to ready and the pre season will show how ready.

Who the outs for next year will be interesting also..

                  Looking towards the preseason already.

So a forward line of Reid, Walsh, White, TDL, Spangher, Morton starting to look very promising. With cameo performances from others.

I like Walsh, from his photo he looks like he's taken an overdose of angry pills. Just needs to give Jesse some for next year.

Sounds like we're only going to use 42 and 60 which means pick 79 we gave to Richmond was never going to be used. Hence we've turned one fringe player (Johnston) into three (Armstrong, Morton, Walsh)

From what I heard, it was his connection with Leigh Tudor (St Kilda forward coach before coming to us) that convinced him the Swans were his best option.

I don't know - it looks very tall. Morton can play up on the wing which is helpful. I think Reid and Walsh will be the first choice KPF combo, but it will be intersting to see how the forward line develops over the summer. White is under lots of pressure now...

Walsh can actually play both ends, though I think he's more natural as a forward from what I'm told.

It's a tall forward line but reasonably mobile. Jesse might even flourish with two others taking the better defenders.

Ooh lala... I'm drooling just at the thought.
Great tradeweek, it was a shame to see Johnston go, but we got what we needed.
I feel sorry for Seaby after coming to our club wanting to be the no.1 ruckman after being second to Cox and despite playing well, his injury and Mumford
's awesome form have done the same to him here. I was hoping for him to find a place as a number 1 ruckman at a new club and we'd get well compensated.
Seems that White is under lots of pressure now with Walsh, hopefully this will help him lift his game.

Walsh could well take the 2nd ruck spot, he looks like he moves really well and is physical at the contest.
