That wherein is the conundrum. There are a couple of injuries still and Luke probably won't be back even though he wants to it is up to the doctor. Everitt out so that makes two. There may be a need for height in the backline and therefore the obvious out would be Mal as good as he has played. Or Cunningham gets a rest. There might a case to use Seabs as a defensive ruckman and LRT goes out. There may be no case for a great deal of change as is usual for us but we need to invigorate the forwardline with new blood.

Fair chance Ballantyne will get looked at for the behind play hit on Chapman. MRP may solve that problem for us.

Taking the two first rounds into account and Freo's form vs us last year and its hard to see how they aren't favourites for any objective observer.
To be considered a "legitimate club", as you put it, they need to play finals consistently, and occasionally go deep in the finals, and occasionally play in a grand final...and, at least, very occasionally win one.
They were good last night. First game of the season, first game under a new coach, in front of their home crowd, against the reigning premiers who are a month behind them in preparation.
Yeah I'm sure they'll be favourites next week... and I also reckon we'll beat them.

What are our chances of chamberhack umpiring this game again?

Also i'd love to have a player like Ballantyne in our forward line. Little dynamo full of energy and run that can also suck opposition players in with his in your face mosquito presence. Opposition fans hate him but his fans adore him.

If shawy and kiffa are back my lineup would look something like this:

                Shaw Richards Smith

                Malceski Grundy Mattner

                Hannebery Jack Jetta

                O'Keefe Goodes Mclgynn

                Rohan Reid LRT

                Followers: Mummy, Kennedy, Mcveigh

                Brilliant lineup IMO.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Can't see us playing Seaby and LRT unless LRT plays in the backline.

I am willing to wager a fair bit that Bird won't lose his spot. One of our best two or three players last time and pretty versatile too.

Damn right! Birdy in for sure. Cunningham will not play. Other selections are on the mark.

Yeh, Bird wont be dropped. Believe it or not, I'm only just starting to see why we gave him the number 14 jumper.

Seaby or White HAS to come in, and O'keefe and Shaw. So that means Everitt and Cunningham miss out and if a it has to be a 3rd to be dropped.....LRT or Hanneberry(before you start laying into me, check his numbers against GWS)

Tom Waterhouse could probably help you there Liz......

O'Keefe and Shaw are still only just returning from injury. Shaw will joining the main group today and ROK did so last week. ROK has had no pre-season at all so will need a while to get match fit. Shaw will not be ready for at least a week more according to the physio. You did point out how little Hannas did against GWS and the reason? He wasn't match fit as he had only one run before the match and that against the Suns. He didn't look fir to me and I wonder if he is still carrying an injury.
Luke Parker probably won't play as the medical staff won't let him until he heals. At this stage we have Armstrong available but has had only one match. ROK, Shaw and Lockyer all have tests which means that they won't be on the park for another week. Spang and Luke for at least another two and Pykie for three to four.

Seabs has to come in, his form in the two's has been superb. Assuming Hannas is fit, which I doubt quite frankly unless he picked up a lot in the Two's trial v GWS. Then only Luke and Everitt go out. Then Seabs and TDL come in. Unless the Two's watchers can give me something better, maybe Lamb?
