Also the AFL view Sydney as a vital market place for them and the Swans are an Intergral part of that strategy so why on earth would the AFL or Demetriou be out to get us.
+1 - I am over this 'world's out to get us' stuff too. We should remember that we are the number 1 team in Sydney, and we have history and pride and the bloods ethos on our side. We shouldn't act like the hard done for underdog anymore - we are the Swans and we are bigger and better and tougher than all that.

(ok you can shut off the dramatic and inspiring soundtrack in the background now).

Report in the Hun says Parker having scans on jaw today which has been wired before in his junior days. So my guess is it was high.

Maybe I should be on the MRP...

Had to be given. Kind of unfortunate really, Goodes' handpass to Parker was a shocker and caught Junior out.

So he can accept a 2 match penalty with a guilty plee.

A high hit where he chose not to go for the ball.

No free kick from the umpire at the time ranks with the mauling to Reid and the laying full lenth on top of Mummy and he gets "holding it in " !
What happened to the in the back rule.......

I am glad the Cornes one was thrown out. It looked accidental but players have been sanctioned for similar actions in the past.

I like how no one has mentioned McVeigh's hit on Coniglio about 60m from the play, I think that was more of a dog act than the McDonalds shirt front.

We know this kid is tough and he has shown it again - hair-line fracture to the jaw and will be out 2-3 weeks. Get well Luke.

I have seen no vision of it, but comments over on BF suggest it was a push to the chest that slipped a little low and winded Coniglio, rather than anything malicious. How did you see it?

Actually after watching a replay the McVeigh incident doesn't seem as bad as I first thought, my initial thoughts were probably a bit off. However I don't think a captain of the club should have hit/shoved like that so far off the play as it served no real purpose.

The match review panel looked at it but dismissed it

The fact he made contact with the head could go against him.
Would not like to see him get suspended for that.
Scott you really want to have a good look at it again. McDonald lined Parker up and had absolutely no intention of going for the ball. The ball had already past by the time McDonald even gets near Parker, he could have pulled out but chose to go for the hit. Parker now has a hairline fracture to the jaw that was the result of an upraised elbow or forearm. Not sure which actually hit him but McDonald raises the arm as he is about to collect Luke.

This stinks of a Sheedy HIT! Luke was too dangerous and Sheeds told McDonald to clean him up, simple! The guy by rights should get 10 weeks for that hit!

Maybe you prefer the players to wear skirts Wolfie. McDonald hit him high so he needs to pay the price (2 weeks is spot on IMO) but a couple of inches lower and it's a perfect hit.

As for your 10 weeks, I guess if he'd raised the elbow you'd want a life ban.
