Personally Pot Black would have been improved with the clapper and some music!

Lucky that is very good and agree Potblack would have been much better if whispering Ted Low entered the pool room Tony Barber style and Had some jaunty background music with the audience doing a mexican wave after each ball that hits the pocket.

At no point did I think he intended a slur against genuinely disabled people. If you don't like his posts, fair enough, I find most silly also. Over sensitive on this occasion though for my 4c worth
A 'lighthearted pop at cheer squads' at the expense of people with disabilities. When you have a child with a disability, then you can call me overly sensitive too, until then please understand that comments like these are hurtful, even if there was no intent. A bit like the indigenous debates in the AFL of late. People need to think before engaging mouths and/or keyboards.

No, a lighthearted pop at cheersquads, nothing more.
Why is this person being lambasted for making a simple funny comment about cheerssquads?

The original poster has not mentioned people with disability. Look at the original post. If he/she did I would be offended too.

I can't believe I am defending WHTG! Please read his/her post there is no mention of disability. he/she was doing something a vast majority of footy supporters do. What was that hideous crime?

Have a lighthearted pop at some of the adult members of cheerssquads who are a little too keen on thier team and take waving Pom poms and banners a bit too seriously.

Come on guys, this furore is up there with original "don't let kids make noise at footy" rubbish.

WHTG clearly upsets people but indignation is unfounded.

Wow 6c now so I will shut up, I new here, and have only watched previously

He specifically said that it was filled with kids with ummm special needs and that was after complaining that he finds the cheersquads embarrassing. Is he embarrassed by the people who are in the CS because some have special needs? If that's the case he's a right peice of work. Agree to disagree.

Potblack provided the funniest TV blooper (to me anyway) of all time. Ted Lowe was describing the events as such:

"Steve is going for the pink ball - and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green"

And whats meant for kids is usually filled with umm adults with umm special needs.
This is what he/she actually said, no mention of kids with disabilities at all.
A clear pop at adults acting like over eager kids.

                Anyway, agree to disagree

Ok you win On pedantry but the inference was to people with special needs be they adults or kids if you find that funny then good on you. WHTG isn't happy unless he's having a go about someone of something as if the world should revolve around him and what he will tolerate . Agree to disagree

Whilst we often agree to disagree on a range of topics on this forum, most people do it politely and happily apologise if they say something that inadvertently offends another reader. Most users of this forum are here with good intentions and those that choose to not follow the forum rules, which are pretty much based on good manners and consideration for others, are hopefully moved on.

Don't agree to disagree on this.

That is your inference, not mine, and is equally as offensive to me as your original assertion would be. I am disappointed that I have been tarred with such an 'inferred' accusation just because I pointed out a clear error based on another posters previous record.

                      Shame, unfair and unfounded.

My take on this is that the furore caused here is exactly what the original poster intended. He wins. It's hard and I sometimes don't do it either but when someone is clearly fishing for bites and controversy it's best to starve them of a reaction. My 1c worth (none of my posts are worth anything more )
