Knowing Goodes because of this he'll probably get BoG every week he plays from here on in and top the Brownlow count. But will be ineligible because of the suspension.

Hoping they'll get him to take a walk around the SCG regardless of not breaking the record until the week after.

I tweeted them. Obviously it won't help anyone but me in trying to overcome my anger, but it felt necessary.

          Poop.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Well when Judd or any other golden head boy does the same thing I hope the trial by media is just the same.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

That sucks. Oh well the boys will just have to fire up this week and show the work that we don't need Goodsey in the team to put the Kangas in their place....

                Exactly.

This game was already a must win, now it's an even muster win.

Best response....Move on..... and ramp up the tackling and pressure intensity against the handball happy Kangas, and watch the mistakes creep in....Swans by 23.
Then Goodesy to lay it out there, with a BOG performance, in Tassie.

You can see from the video that Goodes pulls his upper body away from the contest and his momentum carries his legs first into the contest. I think Goodes did the right thing to minimise injury, but I guess the rules aren't written that way. It seems the AFL would prefer you go head first into the contest and clash skulls rather than have legs making contact. It seems to run counter to what the AFL is trying to achieve in protecting the head.

It was a mistake to have booked him in the first place. He would have never been charged by video review. As has been pointed out, Surjan used the same slide technique, but the fact is that he wasn't booked so there was no charge he could be found guilty for.

It just seems like there are some techniques the AFL frowns upon, and Goodes' sliding technique is one of them, so he will just have to change or risk further suspensions. He doesn't like those upper body and head first clashes, but that's what the AFL wants. The AFL prefers brain damage to leg damage.

With all that goes on during games, this was a nothing event and should not have even come to the MRP, as there was no harm done.

Lets hope he learns from this - at least this should stop the protected species cheap shot sledges - Judd can have them on his own now !!!

It's good the club contested it. That was pretty soft.

The AFL should be sponsored by Mr Whippy.

The whole system is messed up. Scarlett gets a month for essentially the same incident that for which Lake gets a week (HUGE PENALTY DIFFERENCE - SIMILAR REPORT HISTORY). Goodes actually mitigated injury with his body behavior during the contact with Jacob. I just think its messing with the game, there needs to be a level of understanding that this is a contact sport, and instinctive physical action is a part of the game.

Karmichael Hunt looked inspired for the first time in his career last weekend for the Suns and some of the hits he was putting on defensively for the Suns is actually made it a contest, do we want to send a message to him and other guys learning the game (i.e. GWS etc) to make sure you go softly when in doubt? The answer for mine is NO, but don't intentionally hurt people.... that is it...and match the review to that etiquette. If the etiquette is broken...throw the book at them!

I agree - the Swans and Adam need to move on and sut down the handball happy Kangas and control the game. Do the time, but I don't think Adam should be vivlified in any way for his actions. Go 304 v Hawks!

Commentators on the day did a pretty good job of towelling up Goodsey too. Especially Alistair Lynch who is usually less harsh on the Swans than others.
