What a great game (except for Rohan's awful injury). I too was proud of their whole team effort. I was a bit nervous coming into the 3rd quarter - but no fade out! And they finished off emphatically with a couple of goals after a period of trying to stem the flow at the other end.

Looking ahead it was a very encouraging performance. Good to see ROK doing a few trademark things too. What about Bruce suggesting that Jets might be a challenge to Rioli as to his value to his team.

        Great win from the Swans.

I got quite upset at 'holding the ball' - they never seemed to be pinged for it - no matter how much they were spun in the tackle or how much prior opportunity they had.

Kudos to all the obvious suspects but plus marks to Rhys and also to Seaby - I thought Seaby battled well and improved as the game went on.

It was a genuine team effort today, we are almost back to our hallmark of playing for each other, and the ferocious attack on the ball made a welcome return. We played like a top 4 team today. We need to grab as many early season wins as we can to give ourselves a shot of getting that double chance.

Bitterly disappointed for Rohan, especially now that Longmire has pretty much confirmed he's out for the year. If it had been a minor break, he's the type of player who could miss a stack of games during the year and still come back for the finals and make an impact, but sadly it looks like it's not to be

The forward line is still a worry (as ever) but I'm with those who say White and Everitt were a lot better today. 17 goals was a decent return, however.

Just on Josh Kennedy, at one point when he took a mark inside 50 the (radio) commentators compared him to Jimmy Bartel in his ability to drift forward and kick a goal. You know you're going well when you get compared to a Brownlow medallist!!

West Coast and Sydney are first and second on the ladder, the more things change, eh??

Best win for a long, long, long time. Didn't win all four quarters but 5-1, 4-5, 5-1, 3-3 is a very satisfactory effort against decent opposition. A small worry for me is the number of times they seemed to move from end to end with a chain of uncontested balls...ending with an uncontested mark in the fifty....tele only shows narrow shot so you keep yelling "Where are the freakin' red guys???." They took quite a few marks in the fifty where the Swans just completely lost control of where their men were. That's where Carlton and Hawthorn destroyed us last year. That and the switch to players in acres of space. Having said that it didn't happen enough for us to lose :-) but a worry going into games against the top teams. of course if you look at the ladder....maybe we are one of the top teams? *cough* don't say it!!!!~

What a fantastic day at the SCG (tempered obviously by the awful awful leg break for Gaz).

A sensational team effort with everyone contributing.

Also the man love is in full swing for Jetta. The man is an excitement machine and a seriously good footballer.

I also have to pinch myself when I watch Parker. He's still a bloody kid and is playing like a seasoned veteran.

Incy was 100% better than he has benn and I hope this is the breakout game for him.

JPK - WOW, a genuine star. an elite midfielder right at the minute.

So far there hasn't been much love for Benny.. How good was he today.. If he'd kicked a little straighter he could have ended up with 7 ?

Didn't kick seven, though. Had a great game but uncomposed in front of goal, I though. geez I'm harsh

Tough, hard, disciplined and uncompromising footy. Our pressure on the man with the ball was sensational. That was a very good win given North came at us in the last quarter and we went away at the end. When North got to within 26 points there was about 12.30 minutes to go and had plenty of momentum. We kept them out for more than 5 minutes on the clock and their return was 3 points. They missed shots because we forced them to shoot from outside 50 most times which really cuts down the % of accuracy with tired legs.

I thought McVeigh and Jack were outstanding all game and finally White played like his life depended on it.

On a wet day it is very hard for players delivering to forwards precisely and very difficult for forwards to hold overhead marks in one on one contests.

I know people and commentators say we haven't beaten anyone yet but who is there really? Going off last year Geelong - not the force they were and we did beat them at Geelong last year, Collingwood - Definitely not the team of last year, West Coast - we beat them last year, Hawthorn- possibly a difficult prospect especially in Launceston, Carlton - need to beat them. So really we are equal or better than most teams.

We beat the 2 sides who had beaten last years premiers and also beat an improving Port at their own dung heap so I'm pretty happy our form line holds up okay.

All of that, plus the fact we have twice beaten the team that beat Geelong the week previous to us beating them.
