I'll admit I must of watched the game yesterday with Jesse blinkers on. I was ready to launch into him on here until I saw other people's opinion so held off until I saw the replay. Jesse was pretty good so I take back everything I thought and probably said at the game.

I am one of White biggest detractors, the guy drives me mental but I thought his and Everitts overall games yesterday were excellent.
I'm surprised that Everitt is still copping a bit of a blast on here and that some of you expected him to come out yesterday and be a superstar. I thought he showed far, far more then I have ever seen from him including games I saw of him at the dogs and that his effort and intent was fantastic. Yes, his marking certainly does let him down but that's something that can be worked on, his long kicks for goal were excellent!
If only we could get Everitt to mark like Sammy and Sammy to kick like Everitt!
I agree totally, was at the game and thought both guys were great. Jesse bent his knees for once and he found he can get a low ball and control play with that huge frame of his. Bloody wonderful game Jesse and I hope it continues. He did all the hard things yesterday, protecting his little blokes, hit outs to advantage, blocking, chasing. Everitt did so much of the same but he also kicked three goals and that hand off goal was a gem.
Jetts is a star. Our midfield is astronomical! Lukie, Joey, Kizza, Hannas, Jetts, Seabs, Jesse, Birdie and Shaw all did sooo well!
Loved Armstrong's game and the way he talks out on the ground. I also loved when things fell apart for a short while in the last Marty rallied the troops in the back half and soon things started to turn.
This is the best match I have seen since 2006. Even the Geelong game as beaut as it was didn't have quite as much finesse as this! This is a very good side & I stated in the right conditions we could win the premiership earlier in the season. I am going to say that even without Gary Rohan we can get to and win the premiership.
Speaking of Gary so sorry for the lad! He has had such bad luck and it just seems to get worse, maybe we need a friendly White Witch to put a 'No Injury' Charm on him. From what I heard at the game it is the end for him this year.
By the way saw Shane Biggs in the Two's and he put in a pretty decent effort for a first up. His parents were sitting just behind me and they certainly know their footy and are know who is who in the Swans Guernsey both Firsts and Seconds. Lovely people! Good luck to the lad I hope he gets a break because his delivery is pretty good and he can certainly get it.Comment

I'm still soooooooooo happy we beat the boo-a-roos.
That club and their supporter are idiots.
Would have won a granny by now had they moved norf.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

I was stuck amongst the North Melbourne supporters on Sunday. I hate sitting next to that guy.
I showed up unexpectedly at a North Melbourne function. He seemed happy to have some company.
The North Melbourne cheer squad was throwing obscenities and rubbish at nearby opposition supporters until security escorted him out.
Etc etc.Comment

Jesse played a good game, he will never be truly quick, but he does quick things, and he is better now than he was. He has started to use his size to his advantage. Its not all about flash goals etc, its also about making space, contesting, creating discomposure amongst the opposition. What he does is part of the plot. He is not a major part of it, but you don't have a play if you don't have bit players making the central characters look good!
Dre had probably his best game. He has made it to 50, many others don't. He is also an Everitt. Can any of you really say that the Everitt family are quick, get to contests, etc, - however we can say that Drey has a straight kick (each goal, that ball turned over end to end in a straight line, beautiful) and a bit of whoof! He has his talent, and he can use it. It may not be all round, but he has his place; we probably don't know what the coaches instructions to him are (or is someone in the know here).
Kizza, sheesh, he worked his arse off. Reading the play left right and centre.
ROK, well I was ready to say tck tck, its time he retired, until I saw the replay. End to end dragging his opposition with him. Not quick, but dogged, and ultimately effective.
Luke, well, Luke......could hug the bejeeezus out of the kid. I love watching him get better and better.
I could go on, but you know the drill. I am no particularly "mad" at anyone tonight. Noone has drawn my ire. Strange that.....not normal.
Now, Hawthorn. Whoohoo!!!!Last edited by Primmy; 23 April 2012, 10:47 PM.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

He was cut from the dogs due to his inconsistency, lack of intensity and desire for the ball, and his inability to find a position for himself. Yesterday's game was a step in the right direction but all of those issues are still prevalent in his gameComment

I don't think it's too much to expect that a bloke of his size, in his 5th year on an AFL list, at his 2nd club to be able to do the basics such as provide a contest when going for a mark (I swear I'd back Benny McGlynn to out mark him one on one).

Now the challenge for him is to continue the upward curve this week and for the rest of the season.Comment

I don't think we're necessarily arguing different points here Jewels, I think all of us would agree that it was easily his best game for us.
I think as opposed to us trashing his game, we're being a little bit more realistic than some of the posters who oiverrate his performances which generally have been poor.
I know from my own personal viewpoint I get really frustrated with him because he has all of the physical attributes to be an A grade player in the AFL but the application/drive/will to succeed just doesnt seem to be there.
If he could get it all together it would be awesome because he is exactly what we need in the forward line. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I don't think it will happen as he hasn't addressed any of the flaws in his game since being cut by the DogsComment

With Everitt , while Im not a big fan, I think we all forget that he only has just turned 23. For a 194cm player he really shouldnt be expected to be at his best for another season or two. They cant all walk into it like Sam Reid did. Compare that he is almost three years younger than Grundy and really he isnt all that bad for a player his size. He can only get stronger and his kicking is good . He needs to be judged on where he is at the end of this season as he has all the attributes to be a pretty damaging half forward.Comment

I loved the work that he did to set up that goal in the second quarter. Just used his size and strength to force other players off the ball and bust his way through with it. Exciting stuff.Comment
