    This is simple:
    In: Reid / Smiff
    Out: Walsh / Reg

Play Reid / Goodes / Resting Ruck forward.

Pyke to kick 4 goals this week.

We've got to play attacking football. Adelaide's defence has conceded 34 more goals than us over the course of the season. Hitting them with some hard run is the way to go. Put LRT down back to cover Grundy's absence, and use our best available FULLY FIT forwards.
I agree with you Cheer Squad. Last week we went far too defensive and the upshot of that is every time we shot the ball out of defence it came right back again. We had no forwards because they were all in defence in Longmire's 'Flood'. We had little enough in the forward line as it was and to push them back was pivotal in us losing. We should have played Morton, at least he can kick a goal and if given a vacant forward line he will do well and if we pushed Jetts and Morton back on opposite sides it could work very well.

      In; Morton, Reid, Smith
Out; Grundy, Walsh, Armstrong (unlucky because he was pretty good but we need forwards).

I think Shaw should consider himself lucky as he had a stinker, has had the last couple of weeks.

I would love to know how they work out disposal efficiency. Shaw supposedly was 93.75 efficient last week but I saw him butcher at least 4 disposals out of his 16. Josh Kennedy had 59% in the Hawks game but he played a blinder. They must count every little blocked handball that gets smothered in the packs. That would make it difficult for an inside mid to get a good DE rating. I think some of these stats are highly misleading as they seem to count efficiency as getting a clear disposal even if it goes to the opposition.

Geez there is so much drama on our front ahead of this game. I think it will be quite remarkable for the boys to get up.

As for the kick in after a behind - I'd like to see them do that before the goal umpire has even got to waving his flags- we are probably the slowest team in the comp in that area.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

That is a change I think we would all like to see. How about getting on with it a bit quicker, we seem to take forever just to get the ball from the ball boys. The flags have generally been waved before we kick in, hasn't anyone told Shaw and Mattner that they can kick in when the Goal Umpire finger signals a point . How about a few players at least try to get some space! If we had someone who could kick over the top like Drey we could press close then specific players spread running toward our goal.

This is starting to mightily resemble the 2003 QF against Port. We are not quite as written off for this game as we were for that one, but we were hit hard by injury and the longer the week went, the less our chances seemed to get.

It was also the last time I have been to Footy Park, so I'm hoping my return will be an omen and just as enjoyable.

From the Horse's mouth: LRT will play up back, Smith and Reid pretty much certain to return.

But it is finals time, and we've promoted a rookie for reasons unknown, so possibly not telling the full picture.

That headline - "Swans shuffle the deck" - is uncomfortably reminiscent of "shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic".

It's good to have Reid and Smith back - although I'm worried about how Reid will perform under pressure.

As for promoting a rookie now, well, it's hard to see that as a good sign.

I don't feel as pessimistic for this weekend, having finshed 3rd and with several really tough semi final-type games under our belts. Adelaide are coming off some relatively soft games and playing away from home hasn't been such a great hurdle for us recently. Campbell Heath sounds like he deserves his promotion although I wouldn't expect him to be named as anything other than an emergency. Of course if someone else did go down and he had to play, that would be a problem, although I'm sure he'd acquit himself reasonably well if required to come in and play a role.

In my opinion we are in Saturday's game up to our neck and we stand a very good chance of winning. Of course we have to play well but we didn't make it to 3rd spot this year for nothing. As a fan I feel I have the right to be optimistic about this week at this stage.....

We're not in bad form, and I don't feel pessimistic, BUT I'd prefer to be heading into the finals not on the back of our worst defeat for the year, and not against a club on their home ground where we've beaten them once in the past 12 years.

On the upside, we have a good record in QFs, especially at AAMI, and the Crows haven't played any finals for three years.

                              So down, why?

We finished 3rd, won 16 of a possible 22. We play tough, hard finals footy, week in, week out. We have lots if seasoned players who have played finals before.

We will be fine and give the premiership a real shake.
