But Armstrong would be a good in for the 'I stuff up in finals' Shaw! Shaw has always stuffed up in finals and nothing much has changed. Look at his first final against Brisbane!
Shaw's stats; 14 kicks, 13 HB's, 6 marks and 2 tackles. Cant wait to get the HS in the morning to see his 20 clangers and 10% efficiency. He was the 4th highest possession getter for us. You must have fallen asleep for large parts of the game. How long ago was that Brisbane final? We didn't have a passenger today.

Married yes, but not much agreement there. Yeh played a bit of footy, coached juniors, ran the boundary for 6 years and club secretary twice for a total of 6 years.

Nico is right, hardly a single passenger.

Too early to say but McGlynn looked pretty devastated. Hope he's ok.

Was in awe of that effort today, reminded me of why I love this club. I don't know if it's better than 2003, let history be the judge, but damn that was a good win.

I love to watch him run and bounce and wish he'd do a bit more of it. He did some good things and was certainly not a passenger but his disposal today was horrid. He needs to weight his kicks better and I hope he puts time into practice. He can be a very inspiring player.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Phooar, we won't run into Brisbane again. Pies at worst.

To put it in a nutshell, we came into the game with a lot of hype about taking on a new, young, exciting side for whom a lack of finals experience was no impediment. And then we went and kicked 'em old school.

Not a patch on 2003, which as an analogy would have been closer to travelling down to the MCG and spanking Hawthorn this weekend. But it was a very mid-2000s finals win by the Swans.

You're right, but it was still a 5-goal win away from home against a team we had lost to 12 out of the last 14 times we've played. We've had some great qualifying final wins since the current final 8 system was introduced, it probably isn't fair to compare them...

It was tinkered with this arvo, and it looked pretty good as a result.

But Smith is probably best utilised down back. Just looks a bit like LRT may be too.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Liked everything about our game today, except we are just going to have to learn to hit more targets. We are a long way off from Hawthorn in kicking. We were doing well in this area earlier in the year. Perhaps it's just the accumulated physical pressure of so many tough matches recently. Hope the week off will give the boys a chance to freshen up and execute a bit cleaner offensively, while still keeping that great defensive part of our game. Hope we play Collingwood next up. We just have to beat them to show that we've moved to the next level.
