We are getting lots of publicity this week so hopefully a few more jump on board. I think the best indicator will be after tomorrow. After that the majority of those who wanted tickets would have bought them. Please let there be a big crowd! How disappointing would it be for the boys if the stadium isn't packed out.

Plus about 10,000 ANZ Stadium members. So, all up, at least 30K ATM.

They'll really need to hammer promotion of the game in the next four days to keep the momentum going.

Really disappointing 1st day sales, the AFL would have expected sales of 35,000 to 40,000 today to get anywhere near the 65,000 they would like.

I got a feeling we might see a reduction in prices and a fire sale by the middle of the week to get the crowd to 50,000.

A real shame as the game deserves a crowd of 70,000 plus but the AFL have not learnt re ticket prices.

              31k sold for Hawks/Crows.

The game deserves 70k but its a combination of things that will make it hard. A shame.

If they do go down that route, I'm going to be pretty pissed off if I have to sit in my original $70 seat in the pocket in line with the posts.

If its any consolation the tickets sales for the Souths/Canterbury
Game only sold 17000 - heard on the 5am news this morning so that brought a little smile to my sleepy head. If we get 40000 that would be good- anyway we have no control over it so let's put our thought energies towards our boys and them tearing the Pies a new one on Friday night!!!

Really? What were first day sales for the Freo prelim we host a few years ago ?

Just a feeling, or is there a historical precedent for this? I'd wait until later in the week if I knew this had happened before and was likely again...

I can't see any way we will get 10K more than the NRL, as much as I'd like to see it. We'll be doing REAL well to get more, full stop...

Swans should start organising a Swans Jet or four for the Granny.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Souffs v Doggies will get somewhere between 70 and 80k - there is a lot of momentum building for that. We'll be doing well to get to within 20k of that figure, thanks in part to the outrageous prices.

Remember club membership is not as strong in the NRL so I would think that a hell of a lot more tickets to the NRL game will sell today and the rest of the week.

Hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised with the turn-out on Friday as it would be great to see 70k+ crowds at both games - show Melbourne where the real sporting capital is huh?
