This thread is a great time capsule of the period 2012 to present.

We'd just won a flag with a makeshift forward line, and were about to land the biggest forward on the market. And then an even bigger one the year after. A dynasty of flags awaits..

    Result. Ziltch!

Nothing against KT personally but history of injury too ingrained

I have extremely mixed emotions about that possibility! If he?s not going to get back into the side again then probably best all round. How long would his salary remain in our cap?

For as long as he is contracted.

People make up all sorts of rubbish and post it on BF, usually without a skerrick of supporting evidence. If you believe everything you read on there, you probably also think Elvis is still alive and that the moon landing was a hoax.

Sorry I didn?t mean to imply there?s any truth in the rumour.

I really do hope he gets his body right this year for one final tilt at greatness, or should that be redemption? I'll put it out there.....if Tipp has a great season (am I over reaching just thinking that is a possibility?), we will win the premiership.
                          So, is he retired?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

                            Yes. Swans have said so.

Does this mean we have to find someone or thing else to talk about and close down the thread? What am I going to do with all that free time?

                              Tipoff!!!!
I reckon he's hurt himself in training and just thought stuff it.
Are we still going to pay overs for him? For how long?

                                Official

Kurt Tippett announces retirement - sydneyswans.com.au

Tippett had remained optimistic of returning to full fitness, however the length of his recovery and doubts about being able to get back to his best, led to his decision to retire.

The 30-year-old told his teammates on Monday, saying it was a difficult decision.

?It?s really tough to leave a game and a club which I really love, but the reality is that my body isn?t going to stand up to the rigors of professional football. As I've found out in the past 18 months or so, it's impossible to play at the level you want without being fully fit,? Tippett said.
