Are those that keep saying its Grundy going to be traded actually want it to be Grundy?? honestly amazing how speculation seems to become fact to some here- just wait and see what transpires.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Of course it's all speculation. Even more so than normal, since Adelaide are in such a weak position. But this is counterbalanced by us wanting to maintain our reputation as a fair trading partner. So there is a wide range of possible outcomes.

Grundy's name comes up a lot because his market value is probably just a tad below Tippett's, he fits into the Crows' weakest area, he is from South Australia, and we can cover his loss. So it's seems both do-able and the least painful.

No one wants to see Grundy go. Yes. It's all just speculation and we will see what transpires.

Agree with Liz, in this comp if a club stands still it will end up getting trampled. Though I thought that Schneider and Dempster were moved on because of salary cap pressure. (Thats what Micky said in his book anyway).
There have been heaps of reasons offered as to why Tippet was unhappy at Adelaide, but most seem to have missed one of the obvious ones. Tippet is a keen surfer. He reputedly missed home, maybe it was just as much what there was at home that Adelaide did not have. Perhaps Geelong or Freo could have tested the water.
And sifting through the garbage on the Crows BF board, one thing that is consistently said is that Reg does not want to go home.

Totally agree. Its the reason why we are fans and not football club operators. For us it is recreation and passion, for those in the mix it is a business and a business that is LARGE. We really need to sit back and let what will be, be. Not letting the Swans "bottom out" has been a publicly known strategy for quite some time. The fact that we just won a premiership has made it more pointy. The way I look at it is this. Love every bloke who has ever pulled on a R&W jumper. When they go to other clubs, I love them just the same, as being a once Swan makes you a better footy player and a better person.

The football department at Sydney has done an outstanding job, and really when it comes down to it is the envy of every other club (and every fan I talk to across the league agrees). What they do is a big part of shaping the bloods culture, and mostly they get it right as rain. I love being premiers, I love having a professional and talented football department, I love all Swans players current, past and future....... and I than the gods that I was able to choose Sydney as my club and not get born into some other dogmatic filthy family passion for any other team!

I think the measure of success is that even when when we arent winning premierships, we are pushing for them, and based upon current administration that isnt going to change.

The need for improvement is especially keen this year as so many of the stronger teams seem set to become significantly better again. Can't afford to stand still I'm afraid and a forward line with LRT and the resting ruckman probably wasn't a sustainable model going forward.

Pretty certain the club will get the balance right in terms of trading - while we all want the world when another team takes our star (what would we want if someone was after Reid?), the reality is once a player has decided to move, you're at a sever disadvantage. Whether it's the Swans, Gold Coast or someone else, Crows supporters are unlikely to be delighted with whatever trade is made.

The Schneider trader has always been described as forced by salary cap pressures, and no doubt that is true to some extent. But remember we also went out and got Mattner in that trade period because the club decided it needed more run off half-back. There probably wouldn't have been a huge difference between what Schneider was on and what was required to lure Mattner away from Adelaide.

Either way, it was another example of the club starting the regeneration of its list after two grand final appearances, and specifically, trying to strengthen an area it perceived as weak at the expense of any area it believed it had a surplus. (Bear in mind that we had Moore in the reserves not getting a gane, and - pace difference aside - I believe they saw Moore as stepping into the vacancy created by Schneider's departure.)

A couple of goals is a wonderful thing. IF we had gone down to Hawthorn, this board would have been full of screams to do what ever was necessary to bolster our forward line. Many of the "never win a premiership" naysayers were lamenting our forward line all year. And remember, only 3 of our GF goals were kicked by permanent forwards.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

Lets for a moment forget that Reg might or might not be the trade (especially since no official word from swans)

Who, from the grand final team, would we trade for Tippet ?

To start things off, lets trade like for like, forward for forward. Would we trade LRT for Tippet ? Mitch, McGlynn, Reid, ?

or perhaps let go of a midfielder....

IF we have to trade a player, I still say AJ.

LRT to take AJ's spot in the backline. Tippett to replace LRT as a forward. Already we have a stronger team.

                      Grundy >>> AJ

LRT cant take the 3rd tall role nor Grundy nor Ted !

AJ has played two seasons in the role of the 3rd tall as it is integral for a player to be able to mark up on talls and smalls as the game and opposition demand

                          Tippett?

Captain, did you watch the grand final? This guy is 20, and based on what he's done in his 2 seasons with us is going to be a special player. Has poise beyond his years, has good size ( will muscle up in time) pace, and performs under pressure. I have no doubt he is potentially an AA defender. No way would the swans let him go. He is absolutely off the table.

Let me just clarify a few things up here. AJ, isn't going anywhere. I'm mates with him and his family, they love the club, malceski was his mentor in the first year and helped him heaps to settle into the club. Has his own apartment now, and loves its.

AJ had played on Darling as a junior, and in that west coast game when we won by 13 points i think it was, Craig Bolton was out and we needed another defender. Horse knew Jonno had played on Darling and thought why don't we try him at least. Look at him now. He will not be leaving to go anywhere, please people stop mentioning his name.

Tippett is getting very overrated by the adelaide fans. He's not a bonafide superstar, and I sure wouldn't be throwing a 1m dollar contract at him over 4 years. I trust the club and the department however and do understand they have a clue.

Pick 22+ White is the most appropriate deal and if they want any of our premiership players, I'd hope we do not give in to their demands.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. There have been some good ones so far. I like the one about the tweet regarding senior players in revolt.

Its all rather amusing. The sad mental picture of Grundy with wet hanky, crying about returning to Adelaide. Malceski begging: "not me, they'll make me shave off my beard". Jessie asking - "Has Adelaide got a team?"

My 20 cents worth, the Crows will take our first round pick and TDL thrown in. It will take the next three weeks to negotiate and the deal will be completed with 15 minutes before the Schick Trade Period closes.

Now that is funny, a sponsor for trade week, um month!
