I was referring to the BS rumours around the Tippo arguments and name calling at the swans between players after the GF

Anyone can say what they want re Tippo or any other player

I also argued that tippo was no island on GF day by pointing out two others that had very below par performances

Some of my fav players fell in a hole and made decisions like drunks which hurts

As indicated earlier Tippo 2015 and 2016 contracts were close to half his 2013/14 due to inflating the 2013/14 drastically to ensure he came to the swans via the players draft and not be gazumpped by another club

I would be amazed if we are paying more the $750k pa max for 2017

It doesn't add up otherwise given then talent bursting thru 2017/18 and beyond who will be worth a pirates treasure trove - Heeney, mills, Naismith, AA etc

if we are paying closer to 1million pa for Tippo then the swans sal cap managers might not be as smart as they have been for over a decade?

What evidence is there to show that they are now idiots and letting go of their fiscal responsibilities???

I think we have demonstrated the opposite

Dangerfield is on a reported $800k pa at feeling and supposedly knocked back $1.25mill pa to not play for the demons

I would be astounded that the swans would pay Tippo in 2017 more then Dangerfield

Our for poorest performers on grand final day were tippet, mcveigh, mills and rohan.
      All injured and underdone.

Its an old adage that you don't take injuries into a grand final.

We would have been better served with nankervis, marsh, towers, reid. Our at least no worse.

... oh wait, you were serious about playing a guy who was out all season (underdone) and whose last NEAFL game he was injured?

Tell that to Dale Morris who played with a bad back all finals series. The thing is if you win nobody cares whether you were injured or not.

Everyone loves pointing out how well Tippett was playing before he was injured.

The issue they are forgetting is that his salary is so high it means that we will lose good players (like Mitchell).

So, like Buddy, Tippett needs to absolutely play out of his skin to be anything close to good value for money. Most expensive ruckman in the comp needs to be the BEST ruckman in the comp.

It's funny that during the trade period all sorts of contract figure are publicly thrown around (Mitchell $700k/yr, Vickery $500k, Wells $600k), yet with Tippett we have varying speculation at best ($400k-$1M) How accurate are the numbers likely to be in reality?

Most jobs, when you apply, are open with their salary. Footballers incomes seem very non-transparent.

I think what is annoying is that Tippett, Rohan and McVeigh were amongst our worst players in the 2014 GF as well.

Disagree, Tippett was one of our very few reasonable players in the 2014 GF...

The only ruckmen I would prefer over Tippett are Nic Nat, Goldstein and Gawn. He's worth what we are paying, especially as he is probably the best ruck/forward in the competition.

First time I have looked at this. I'm not convinced i'd call Tipps game reasonable on those figures.....

With 6 hit outs to Pyke's 32, I'd say Tip mostly played forward & while I'm trying to erase that day from my memory, I don't think the ball spent a lot of time in our forward line. According to the player ranking he was at 6th for us, which in a belting isn't atrocious. And he was ranked 7th for disposals. The 6 above him were either mids (who should get plenty of the ball) or defenders, who had had the ball in their proximity for much of the game.

Yeah it was more the 1 goal 1 behind return for a key forward I was looking at.

4 touches for Jetta playing a heap of the day as loose man in defence. He looked more lost that day than Motlop did in the prelim
