    Apparently, they pay really well.
I'd rather go work for FC Anzhi Makhachkala, they pay $470,000 a week.

The above point is archaic. Thanks to the TV deals, and salary cap room these days, the $70,000 a game skewed figure being reported is more than fair. This game is a money maker, and the players deserve the majority share.

Especially when they're suspended and not playing for half the season.
LOVE to hear what's been said "out of earshot" at training.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

So you would then prefer assistant coaches to be on $400k a year?

Assuming that the reported $3.55M is evenly spread across the four years, he will take up 9.7% of the TPP next year. So be it.

I will be watching with interest to see how he fits in with the much talked about Bloods culture which has become the Swans 'brand' particularly of late or whether his baggage and silvertail image will change/is changing the image of the Swans and who they are in the broader AFL scene.

sponsors alone will be lining up to jump on the sydney bandwagon after a GF win in 2012 and a team with a key forward like tippett is a top 4 team without doubt for 2013

so the extra $ to have a player like Kurt take over in yrs to come in the key forward role is totally worth it

plus what else could we do ? how else could we secure a key forward to replace the likes of Goodes and also to allow Reid t flourish ?

I didn't actually buy one and the people who I know who did are some of the passionate supporters we have.

My point is regardless of what you think of drafting KT supporters should support anyone pulling on the red and white. Do you agree??

Quote in Todays Swans Email: This is why Beatson is the best in the business.

Beatson said Tippett will be a welcome inclusion to the football club, which boasts a long history of successful key forwards.

He said Tippett?s ability to play both as a genuine forward as well as a ruckman would be a valuable asset for the Swans in 2013 and beyond.

?The Swans do have this affinity with, and our members and supporters love, genuine key forwards so he adds to that,? Beatson said.

?He?s an enormous forward target and we needed to address that. He?s got an enormous presence when he plays and he can also play in the ruck.?

Following on from the Swans? Grand Final win, Beatson said the club were not prepared to trade any of the club?s premiership players, so when the chance to recruit Tippett arose, the Swans worked hard to secure a deal with the 25-year-old without letting go of any of the club?s 2012 stars.

?When you?re winning premierships and finishing high on the ladder each year it?s difficult to get your hands on elite junior talent through the draft unless you?re prepared to trade your players out, and we weren?t prepared to do that with the premiership group and it was never a consideration,? he said.

?With that in mind you?ve got to look at other opportunities of getting elite talent into your club and this was an opportunity that presented itself to us.?
