I just watched the brief interview on the Swans website, I already thought the guy seemed like a dream for the marketing department but now I'm completely sold on it- absolute soft ball interview, as you'd expect, but he spoke very well to camera and you can guarantee that they'll be rolling him out for media duties in years to come.

Totally agree. Seems fun, funny, affable. And a boy next door, approachable good looking as well! Get him advertising pies!!!

Anyway, I for one welcome our new full forward. I'm glad the Swans got the deal done and I think he'll make a huge difference to our forward line, as it will actually help give us one.

With the new rules for any suspended players that get reported from 2012 they cannot use the preseason games as part of the games missed for the suspension...

I wonder if it would be worth an appeal as Kurt's offence was committed by having underhanded payments were in fact a couple of years ago. When they occurred.

Shouldn't the rules that applied at the time be used for the suspension for 2008.... You shouldn't have to pay it forward IMO. My understanding is that any suspended players missed the NAB cup games as part of their suspension in 2008..

Not his fault that the league took till 2012 to suspend him!

Therefore he misses the preseason cup and returns to play in round 8. (Well it is a good idea in my mind anyway...)

Except that his ban specified that he would miss the whole of NAB Cup, and 22 H&A games, with 11 suspended. Don't know the rules re reserves but all comments I've seen seem to be sure that also means he can't play reserves.

On SEN just then, Glen Luff from Champion Data who does the AFL Fantasy Football Comp, gave a run down on all the sides for 2013 and how they rate them. He said we had everything covered in 2012. We were able to score when required and defend like hell when under the pump. The one weakness was up forward and what do they do; get Tippett. He said don't worry, Tippett will be a STAR.
