Morton, Pyke, Eski and LRT are probably the ones who'd be getting squeezed out, as hopefully Parker is pushing into the best 18. Mitchell to put pressure on too. Perhaps Jude doesn't play every week to manage his body? Bird had a good year but McGlynn/Rohan may take his spot as the defensive forward who pushes into the middle. Nice problems to have!

If we get Tippett and everyone is fit, who is in the Swans best 22 next year
I cannot see both LRT and Pyke losing their spots next year. I think Tippett comes into the forward line and Goodes becomes a wing or flanker who pushes between midfield and forward, obviously with less time forward. I think keeping the two rucks is important, as most premiership sides seem to play two rucks in recent times, and I don't think Tippett ought to be used as a part time ruck but a full time full forward. So one of Pyke or LRT is necessary as second ruck, and in that position Pyke is the better of the two. LRT as a swing man forward and back though is almost number 1 in the league In his ability to impact a game from either end of the ground. Will be tough to drop him. I'd hate to be on the selection panel next year but I really can't see either LRT or Pyke out of the side. I think with Goodes playing a different role there is room for LRT Pyke and Tippett. Just don't ask me who makes wayComment

In general play he will man up the loose man, or move into vacant space.
The ultimate "rover".Comment

Just listening to the AFL trade radio and Terry Wallace suggested that from the GF team LRT, Morton and Pyke would miss out for Tippett, Rohan and McGlynn.
But would we really drop 2 talls for a tall and a small??
I agree that Tippett, Rohan and McGlynn come in to the team if fit, but the way i see it Tippett comes in for Pyke (very unlucky), Rohan in for Morton but who goes out for McGlynn??
Does LRT lose his spot? Surely he is a better back up ruck than Tippett.
Would like to hear your thoughts!

I'm not a fan of Terry Wallace, he was such a poor recruiter, developer and Coach, he drove Richmond into the ground.
And I don't put much weight to anything he has to say.
Here he gives a skin deep appraisal... as usual.
The reality is Rohan will take most, if not all, of next season just to find his feet.
I'm sure the Swans will be very conservative with him, hence I reckon he'll be playing mainly in the 2's next year.
Also, IMO.. at least one , if not both, of Pyke and LRT will be in the side. Tippett will play as a FF, Goodes will spend more time on the wing.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Nathan Brown and Micheal Barlow both struggled in their first year back from similar injuries.
It's one thing to be running, it's quite another to be playing AFL level footy.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

I hope your right ....but compound fractures are hard to overcome, both mentally and physically.

I might be a bit premature here, but if Goodes now has 2 gammy knees (damaged posterior cruciate ligaments) then his ability to turn may be severely restricted. So playing forward may not be an option. Does he play back as a loose defender? Maybe a role running around wherever he sees fit. Will it be his last year?Comment

Regaining fitness is one thing, regaining math fitness and touch, game sense etc will take time. As many have said, I can't see them rushing Rohan back. He's young and we have depth to cover him until he's fully right to go. It will be great To see him back though, beating Jetta in a race to a loose footy in the forward 50!Comment
