      Bugger!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Some of the injury assessments don't sound good.

Very few return to full fitness after the kind of hamstring injury Walsh has had. Maybe he will be okay to play Gaelic football, but doubt very much if he will be able to return to professional football. I think Nick Riewoldt went to Europe for some special treatment for his hamstring injury and it seems to have helped, so there is some hope.

It seems that Rhyce is back to ground zero and has been backed off training and appears to be a long way off unfortunately. It's beginning to look unlikely that he will come up to speed this year after missing so much training. The medicos don't seem to have a handle on his injury yet, which is not too good seeing that it happened 2 months ago.

Mattner had hip surgery in the off season, so I would assume this is a recurring problem that has not been resolved. He's looked increasingly off the pace as the years have passed. So perhaps he is coming to an early end to a very good career.

        On the brighter side:

Tippett will be playing in the nick of time.

Hopefully no setbacks for Sam. It would be nice to have him back for the Carlton game in round 14.

And LRT is still on schedule return before the tough part of the season.

Tommy Walsh's injury sounds horrible - just the way it looked on Saturday unfortunately. I feel so sorry for him, dreadful bad luck.

Rhyce is back on the track.

Gary Rohan expected to resume full training in a week.

Excellent news on both counts! LRT's injury status now reads indefinite and Gerard Healy let slip yesterday that he's gone for the year. Our swingmen; LRT and TW, so very sad.

Our injury count is way above the point where some coaches start to use it as an excuse, yet somehow we keep winning (touch wood)

Apparently Rohan's status has been changed from indefinte for the firs time in 18 months.

Something tells me that Gary may make a showing in the finals. I heard 'Horse' talk about him last week and Horse is normally super conservative. This time he said that Gary is making incredible progress and all going well may get some game time in the Ressies in a few weeks. With our growing injury list..its not out of the question that GH could suit up. The club would only do it if they felt that he was fit enough. Light appearing out of the tunnel.

He may be back in the seniors before Goodes is.
