Bad win for us tonight - think the Eagles in 2006. The Hawks will be desperate to make up for last year, especially if they are playing the Swans.Comment

Yep this is not good. Extremely pessimistic statement - but anchored in likelihood and realism - ....it makes tomorrow's game feel pointless, like a lose/lose situation. Lose and well, we lost. Win, fly all the way back from Perth with a lot less recovery time with fatigued players and possibly more injuries, then fly to Melbourne to get belted."Take me down to the Paradise City where the grass is green and the Swans win pretty."Comment

i would much rather play the Hawks then the Cats
any day of the week !!"be tough, only when it gets tough"

There was a tweet on the AFL website saying that Stevie J was playing like a 22 year old Jed Lamb.
Jed Lamb retains enormous popularity on this forum. Can one of Jed Lamb's supporters educate me as to why Jed Lamb is in the class of Stevie J? I know a junior coach saw some similarities in the players when Lamb was a junior but there has to be more to this argument than that!Comment

I really want to make the grand final but don't want to lose to the Hawks. I only had one year of bragging rights against WCE fans until they got us back, and I don't want the same happening with Hawthorn.Comment

Hopefully Kirk will have them half asleep with his interviewing technique. "Now boys, how do you feel about playing tonight? Just sit for a moment and feel the energy in the air boys, breathe it in........."
I'm not expecting the Swans to win tonight because I think Freo will be well prepared by old Lyon eyes to win. I hope that Freo can win it next week but not fussed as I'm happy the Cats were knocked out. They have had three recent premierships so on the balance of premiership fairness it will be a good result either way but I would be hoping Freo wins.
If the Swans do get through tonight, there are still two major positives:
1. You can't win a premiership unless you're playing in a grand final; and
2. The players will have grand final experience if they lose it.
So considering the injuries we have had this year, it has been an OUTSTANDING year where we have rebuilt without intending to. We have the future of the Club in Rampe and Biggs playing major roles in defence in a Preliminary Final and they are both still rookie listed. Can it get any better than that in terms of player depth and future playing prospects?
So tonight is a win-win even before playing.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment

Well now that the season's been call, I guess we can start looking towards 2014....
...as far as I'm concerned, we will win tonight and next Saturday really slam home to the Hawks that we can devastate them.
Losing the last two to Hawthorn has some benefit in that they will be able to analyse what went wrong and hopefully put in place different measures to get a win.
Also, the Hawks will feel somewhat entitled and like it is ticked in as a winThe difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Last year couldn't be more different. Had virtually no injuries and were playing scintillating football, plus had a week off and minimal travel. Can't see us being physically able to lay 110 tackles in a GF this year, should we make it.
But, if by some miracle we win the flag, it will be THE GREATEST sporting achievement in Australian history. They could make a Mighty-Ducks style movie out of it. Rampe has the right hair for the lead role."Take me down to the Paradise City where the grass is green and the Swans win pretty."Comment

Yeah I despise this. Happened all last year. Much worse this year. I wanted to see the despair on their faces. Can't believe Geelong choked and started bombing the ball through the centre with 5 minutes to go. The had it in the bag."Take me down to the Paradise City where the grass is green and the Swans win pretty."Comment

Me too. Hawks and their media band wagon are sickening. I know I want swans to win tonight, but if swans don't win then I want Freo to beat the insufferable Hawks next week. Having said that I may not feel like that straight after tonight's game if we lose.Comment
