I've seen Sam Reid play some below par games, such as the previous round, and he has never been bombed as hard asJesse by the Swans coaching staff and fans.

      Spot on.

Jesse is a Collingwood player. I'm not too fussed how he goes.

Some on this forum laugh about Jesse White being labelled as a key inclusion for the Pies.

The Hawks fans would not have thought much of Josh Kennedy?s early years at the Hawks. What Josh needed was a coach and a club that appreciated his talents, had a role for him, and made him feel that he is a vital part of the team. Josh responded and is now amongst the best players in the AFL.

Jesse now has a club with a clear role for him, a coach who believes that he can have a great impact, and a club ready to embrace him. Let?s all wish him well and hope that he can be as dynamic for the Pies as our recycled stars like Josh Kennedy and Ted Richards are for us.
Hawks Fans thought very highly of Kennedy, only compliance to the salary cap saw him leave.

Probably because even in Sam's poor games, which admittedly have been a few too plentiful in the past 2-3 seasons, he can still be seen to be working his arse off, chasing and trying.

          Jesse on the other hand....

That's the key difference. For his size Jesse just seemed so weak at times, not to mention him admitting it took him 6 years before he realised he needed to try harder.

It's a slap in the face to our club.

THats just a maturity thing . I dont see it as a slap in the face to the Swans. He was lucky in that the Swans perservered which lead to him getting another chance at an age when many others would have been discarded.

Jesse continually underperformed and the reality is that if someone had asked you at the end of last season (even after his good finish) - White or Franklin - the answer is pretty easy.

I think it was more to do with the fact that he couldn't get a senior game, Clarkson (to his credit) was open with Josh in telling him that he was well back in the pecking order, and that the Hawks were only able / willing to offer him a one year contract. The Swans saw a role for him and were willing to give him a three year contract. I don't recall reading anything to suggest the salary cap was an issue.

Sorry but lack of maturity isn't an excuse to not give it your all for almost your entire career to date, especially on his pay packet.

That was the year the Hawks recruited Gibson and Burgoyne, add it keeping Roughhead, Mitchell, Hodge, Sewell and Franklin to name a few and someone had to go, we let a few players retire and after that had to cut a few "at the time Fringe" players in McGlynn and Kennedy, We would have kept them if possible (Should have done an Adelaide) but in the end the deal worked out pretty well for both the Swans and The Hawks, The Hawks would take J Kennedy back with open arms if he wanted to go back as well.

i just have a feeling we may see one of the best quarters of footy by the swans for some time

im picturing an intensity similar to the 2nd qtr in the 2012 GF

we are like a bomb ready to explode !!!!

I am making the call it will be 10 goals to 5 at half time !!!!

Welcome back to Sydney Nathan !!!

On the topic of Jesse White ... I would imagine over the years Ted and Reg would have matched up against him countless times in training and intra-club matches. Assuming one of them will be getting him this Sat night, I'm optimistic he will be held in check.
CIA Agent to Policeman: "Have you ever had anti-terrorist training?"
Policeman: "Yes, I was married once."
