I don't think people ( well certainly me ) are suggesting senior call up for players who aren't deserving. That should never happen. However there is always the possibility that the team could benefit from subtle changes even when they have just won. Gotta keep an open mind. Tippett is clearly one of the returning injury players and nankervis has been playing well from reports so deserves to be considered in place of derrickx

Yep. I don't understand the calls for changes for the sake of changes. Replace anyone who is injured. Consider anyone clearly best 22 who is fully fit and ready to go. But yesterday's team needs to consolidate what we hope might be a season-kick-starting win (conveniently ignoring the fact we hoped that after the Adelaide game too), not tinker around the edges for the sake of it.

I think it will be Tippett in for Tom D. LRT will be expected to contribute some more ruckwork in support of Pyke. Even through we did it last season, I don't think its great to be playing 2 guys in the forward line over 200cm, with another rucking.

LRT will give more flexibility, more agility, more pressure than a Tom D or Toby N. Those guys are better ruckman than LRT, but against Melbourne and Brisbane, who don't have two dominant rucks LRT will be a fine backup.

Both Pike and Derickx form has been really bad.
Numbers don't lie, my fantasy team points has been destroyed by those two.
Time for a change and let bring both Tippett and Nanverkis in!
Grundy must also be look at; we must have someone else better than him in the reserves wanting a game!

So you'd drop Pyke??? Fantasy points don't tell everything, especially about a ruckman.

Given Chris judds injury tonight I think it's extremely unlikely that goodes will be running around in the seniors next week. Tippett is prob 60 40 to play in the seniors. I just think it puts those two players into perspective.

                  LRT also looks cooler.

I think the only change will be KT for derickx with LRT having to do some ruck work for a few weeks.

Although if Mitchell is fit he will come in for one of the jack brothers, depending if kieran is fit or not. Brandon's effort was good but I don't think his performance was necessarily good enough to keep his spot. If Brandon plays I would like to see him play as the sub and Lloyd get a full game.

I agree that we shouldn't make changes just for the sake of changes, but there is more to changing a side for a given round than just getting the best 22 on the field.

I think there should be strategic changes made, which include preparing 'depth' players for the day they might be required due to injury, seeing how reserves players hold up under senior conditions and resting senior players so they are can finish the season strongly.

One example might be to play Nankervis against Melbourne instead of Derickx, even if Derickx played okay and might be expected to perform better than Nankervis on the day. But we know it's not likely to affect the outcome of the game and we can get much needed senior experience into a player that might be needed at the pointy end of the season.

                        Minimal changes.

Only best 22 players who are definitely fit to come back in or changes due to injury soreness. The start to the year has been up and down already so I think we should look to stability and to build on this effort rather than excessive changes.

Look, I agree with giving reserves players senior experience when the opportunity presents, but I think it should only be one player at a time and when an obvious senior equivalent is unavailable due to injury or fatigue.

I'd like to see Lloyd stay in, so unless another senior player goes down with injury (I don't think K. Jack is injured but Bird looked very sore to me at moments in the game) we should maintain the same line up. Tippet in for Derickx. I wouldn't play Goodes, not even as a sub - we've fallen away in every 4th quarter and need speed off the bench.

I'm really worried about Tippett doing any ruck work whatsoever. Derickx has been doing a lot of rucking over the last few weeks which has freed up pyke down front. That's why I'm not sure it's the best swap

In what way did bird look sore. I can't say I noticed that to be honest ?

Everyone is raving about Jake Lloyd and rightly so, but what has happened to Lloyd Perris? Late last year he was touted as the next midfield gun to come through. A legendary club coach and Chairman went to war over Perris.

Is he not playing up to the level of last season? I thought he would have been the first rookie upgraded, but Jake Lloyd has stolen his thunder!
