It would probably mean Rohan to go out. Plenty of us think he should be given a full game.

I know there are other scenarios, but that would be a forward flanker for a forward flanker, which makes sense.

As someone who thinks Malceski's kicking and decision making is direly overrated. It didn't look any worse or better than any other day. My objection to mal is his lack of intensity when the ball is turned over especially when he is forced to go one out.

Although they might not necessarily deserve it, I would love to see Rohan and B.Jack both given full games this week. Tell them to just get the leather and run at every opportunity, if they get caught a few times then so be it but they're both desperately lacking confidence and the wide expanses of the MCG against a lowly ranked Richmond could be the perfect place to find it. They both offer huge x-factor and if they could potentially find some form in the back half of the season it could come in very handy in September.
In saying that, if Jones is to debut it would be great to get a full game into him as well...so maybe give Jetts the green vest to give him a bit of a spell.
On another note, I'm not sure what else Membrey has to do to get a game but I'd say his best chance will be later in the season against a weaker opposition when Goodesy needs a bit of a freshen up...most likely in round 21 or 22.

-1 graemed! Nick's kicking is elite and I am very comfortable with him ball in hand off HB. His defence is solid, but his main role is a linking distributor out of HB. He would be a walk up start in any teams back line.

The other option would be to choose a HBF from Biggs or Matty Dick to free up the existing defenders to play in the middle (Smith, Shaw or Rampe all of whom are ex midfielders of some ability). Again the Rookie elevation dilemma is raised by the elevation of Biggs.

I think there's next to zero chance of Horse playing with the back 6. Stability back there is one of his key strategies that worked very well in 2012 but was killed by injury in 2013.

Yeah, Melcho is one of the first players the opposition target. If you can halve the output of Malceski and Hanna you put a big hole in our game plan.

For the first 2 and a bit it was Pyke. They were soundly beaten in rounds 5 and 6 by two very good ruckmen in Sandi and Jamar, and that would have had a pretty fair whack of hitouts to advantage (which I assume is where the differential comes from) involved. There's not a lot of refinement in Tom's ruckwork so he's less likely to pickup hitouts to advantage, and our midfield appears to setup mindful of that (for both Tom and Sam), Tippett is the only one I can recall seeing the group setup to win the tap and it's hard to say if that's because of his ruckwork (I do think he is a very skillfull tap ruckman) or if it's simply because he is taking them in the F50 so they would logically setup to be attacking anyway. As a team we are last in average hitouts in the comp, yet we are middle of the road for clearances (both around the ground and centre clearances) which suggests to me they're not setting up to win the tap (which reduces Tom's ability to rack up a couple of hitout to advantage stats, as well).

He's been regularly beaten, certainly not denying that- but he's also been consistently coming up against decent ruckmen, it's not entirely just him making them look good.

I know I've been bagging Tom D a lot, but it's just because I think Nankervis could offer so much more. What a perfect opportunity to give him a game going up against those Tigerland statues in Maric and Hampson. He could play mostly forward anyway.

He probably hasn't got the tank that Derickx has got. Clearly on pure football ability, Nankervis is streets ahead but Derickx plays 90%+ of each game. Not many can do that.
