How much do the hawks need to beat the pies next week to overtake our percentage?

Guess how many points the pies will get and add that to the hawks points against. Multiply by our percentage. Divide by 100. Subtract the hawks points for.

So if the pies get 50 then the Hawks need to get 146.

Roughly 100 points assuming we don't improve or reduce our percentage much today.

        I think.

I did a few figures last week so this is off the top of my head now....It's tricky to be really accurate because our for and againsts vary so much...but I calculated (correctly) last week that we needed a 75 point win...and as it happened we got the chocolates by about .1% - they the lost by 20 points and lost the same amount off percentage as we gained. Last night their percentage didn't change. If our percentage doesn't change today (roughly a 90-65 point win) then we can afford a 20 point loss to Richmond UNLESS the Hawks belt Collingwood...anything more than 30 points will start boosting their percentage...so the answer to your question is that we can afford a 20 point loss to Richmond as long as we beat the Bulldogs by something like the same margin as The Hawks beat Collingwood. That figure can be slightly in our favour because big wins for them boost their percentage less than a big win for us because they have 300 more points against than we do. :-)

Scores today that would see us lose top spot

                140-145
                120-131
                100-116
                80-102
                60-87
                40-73

Smallest win that would see us drop our percentage below that of Hawthorn's

Guaranteed top 2 finish! First since 1996 I think. Given the 6.8% we're ahead of Hawthorn we could still finish first if they win and we lose next week.
4th will be winner of Port-Freo game next week.

Or Geelong if Freo win and Lions beat Cats (which is not as far fetched as it initially seems, Brisbane usually play well against them)

They should have won it last year if Lester had taken his time.
