No wonder he seemed so chipper on The Back Page last night.

I hope so but probably not. Eddie needs more things regarding the Swans to grumble about.

Great news. I didn't have any real fear of him leaving but it is good to get confirmation.

Which collingwood hopeful came up with that one :P

I think Matt80 put it out there earlier in this thread but I wouldn't mind us having a crack at developing Sam Blease, raw pace is invaluable in the modern game.

Provided of course, that we get him for next to nothing in a trade and he's happy to play for minimum wage with the carrot being a possible premiership.

We don't know if they can accommodate a salary similar to levels he might be offered from other clubs. It's not like we're talking about an established first team player. This is a kid probably ready to play senior footy but with little opportunity thus far. If Goodes plays on next year, its hard to see that changing, especially with the likes of Towers and Jack also hovering around the fringes as different kinds of non-key forwards.
Membrey looks a real talent. It's hard to see us letting him go, unless there is some sort of go-home factor or personal reasons. I would be promising him a fair crack for a spot in the side, Goodes or no Goodes. Some of the older players are going to have sacrifice a last go around to make room for some of the talent running around in the ressies this year.

I noticed that Malceski didn't speak to the media after the AA announcement and instead released a statement. Should we read anything into this? Did he just want to dodge the questions? Poor Smithy had to answer them.

Maybe. But it might have been questions about his hamstring he wanted to avoid answering. Or maybe he was just busy looking after his hamstring.

Adelaide has announced that Sanderson has been sacked!! Rumour is that Goodwin is the favourite and Bomber might be assistant. Wasn't expecting this.
The meeting with Ryan makes more sense now.

I am not overly surprised. I think Sanderson is quite a stupid coach, who relies too much on his perception of his players' ability and not enough on team thingies. I shudder to think how good a player Dangerfield might be if he had a decent coach who pointed out that there is no point him contesting every ball at full tilt when they have players like Sloane and the Crouch brothers to do that, and instead he should play in a way that makes proper use of his size, strength and explosiveness.

I have been told, third hand but from a source I consider to be pretty sound, that Ryno has agreed to join the Crows next year in a player-coach role.

Might be void now that a new coach will come in and will want his own set of assistants?

Recruiting is all about improving your list.

Given Roosy didn't think he was even worthy of a game, at the lowly Demons. How is Blease going to improve the Swans list?

He maybe worth a punt, at a low ranked club in desperate need of some speed. But I doubt he'd get a look in at the Swans.

Perhaps Sando was the one prepared to give ROK such a role & this was good enough reason for the club to sack him. Recruiting a 34 YO to play at such a club would be a huge mistake.
If the Swans don't believe ROK could no longer play quality senior footy then other clubs would take notice.
