Although there is nothing official, it appears that Biggs wants out. And I can understand why. And this goes for Membrey as well. Both have shown that they are capable of playing senior level football. Membrey has actually fulfilled his 2012 draft prospect expectations that saw many talent scouts rating him as high as a late 1st round pick. Biggs has now been around 3 years and has only managed to get a few games in the seniors. Not much has changed at the Swans, and both will still struggle to get games next year. Mitchell will likely get a starting role next year and we are already showing a preference to Jones over Biggs. Heeney will likely leapfrog Biggs as soon as he arrives.

These 2 players need to take their opportunity now. They are more suited to clubs outside the top 8 where they are more likely to find oppornities immediately.

As for Mitch Robinson, we have never been keen on players with off field issues or those that have a tendency to get suspended, except for super talented big forwards. On talent alone, Mitch would struggle to make our best 22.

I agree, he was thrown in at the deep end late last year and performed really well under immense pressure.

That's a huge tick in my book. I really hope we can keep him.

BTW the latest trade talk says..."He's open to exploring his options"...So that would appear to leave the ball in the Swans court.

The grand final tilt could have done with some of Mitch's fight and hardness. Not sure where he'd fit into our structure but don't think he'd do our list any harm of we have a spot and he's still only 25.

Mitch could be our 2015 mitch morton.

I struggle to see how Mitch Robinson would improve our list. If we put the GF aside for a moment (and I know that's still hard to do), we already have a plethora of hardish midfielders who maybe lack a tad of absolute class. Is Robinson an improvement on any of those? Would anyone want him to arrive and keep a Tom Mitchell or Craig Bird out of the team? Or even a George Hewett, Zak Jones or Isaac Heeney?

              2014 GF day was attitude

I dont want a mitch robinson in a swans team we have too much class for his lack of skills and brains

we have plenty of tough players that have learnt a massive lesson of life in season 2014

Mick Malthouse said many years ago when the WC team lost in 2005 from memory.............."its a shame that some our guys can read newspapers........because they started to believe that the game was over before it was even played"

I thought I had read the most ridiculous suggestions elsewhere in this thread, but no, there is always one that can take insanity to new heights. If you looked at the B&F voting Sam Reid was a vote-getter in most games and was carrying injury in many. The coaches know his value and it is huge and will grow with time. He is a premiership CHF (at the age of 20). Blokes like this are as scarce as rocking horse droppings. A Sam Reid is worth half a dozen above average mid fielders! Why do you think other clubs want him?

So lets take a look at the state of our list by numbers.

We run the minimum 38 senior players, out LRT, ROK, Walsh, Dick, Lockyer, Mal, Membrey =32, in Heeney, Hiscox, Davis, LLoyd, X Richards = 37.

Picks currently 39 & 58 plus what we get for Membrey maybe 41. If we only intend to take one more player at the ND, I wonder if we'll try and package up those three picks for a higher pick? Or might we delist another senior player like Marsh and use 39 & 41.

                  Interesting week ahead.

                    Jono O'Rourke - GWSGIANTS.com.au

does anyone else rate Jono ?

at first glance he would be a replacement for a Mal type role off the HBF or midfield.........

but i would guess that we dont have the capacity to have him join the Swans nor does he want to stay in Sydney ?

                      It's not a big issue, but 38-7=31.

You forgot ROK and LRT were only half the footballers they used to be.

With the list dropping to 31 + 3 academy selections and 2 promotions, it would seem that we will not pick up any more than two players to get to the min 38.
I would guess Membrey and pick 58 will go to the saints for their 3rd round pick, giving us two live picks around the 40 mark...

I think this is the most realistic outcome.

I was hoping that there could have been an option to send Membrey, Biggs, and pick 58 for St Kilda's early second round. After reading that the Dogs are negotiating to send Liam Jones, Cooney and a 3rd round to Carlton for pick 27, I now believe the early 2nd round is out of reach as the current negotiations stand.

Having two picks at around 40 is the most realistic outcome. Maybe a trade of Biggs to a Victorian Club could move one of those picks up 2-5 places in the 2nd round.

I still believe that a trade for Craig Bird is best. Mitchell will be competing for his spot in 2015 and its time to back Mitchell. There will also be competition in the reserves from Heeney, Jones and Hewitt for his spot. If he has a down year next year, then his currency value will be shot.

A trade now would move one of those two likely picks around 40 up to a late 1st round or an early 2nd round.

                            This is just my opinion.

I really hope we're not into Robinson. Yes, he has a go but he's extremely untidy and undisciplined.

Would anyone have seriously considered him prior to the GF? The last thing we need to do is top up with midfielders who turn it over.

Wonder if we would look at trying to lure Christensen from the cats? Apparently he wants out and to go to QLD but you never know.
