Given that Jetts was going, it was only ever about what the trade would be. Also since our current Ruck division is either still developing or playing injured I feel this is an excellent exchange option.

Typically these speed guys only get slower with age and a good ruckman normally gets better. Hope this is the case!

Thanks Jetts you are forever a GF Swan!

    Welcome Callum Sinclair.

Guess Mike Pike and either play a secondary role or retire! And with others ruckmen maturing I feels we are well suited. (and I am surprised that either Sam Naismith or Toby Nankervis was part of the deal with a 3 round pick..)

    Dunkley and Mills

Next play for a Key backman IMO

Which may point to Bird being traded for a 2nd rounder, this would leave us with 1 decent live pick after Mills.

NicNat and Lycett, then their next tallest is Fraser McInnes at 197cm, so yes, a bit thin now.

I look forward to the reaction of the WCE fans when Jetta does the war dance in the Indigenous Round next year.

It is hard to put a value on both Jetta and Sinclair, so a direct swap is probably fair enough.

Jetta is a tease really - his highlight reel is great, but even after 120+ games he still can't handle a tag and doesn't stand up in big games.

Sinclair is still quite inexperienced but he does look like he has improvement still in him and should be good for us.

The west coast fans seem to feel ripped off. Don't understand that , seems fair o me

Sinclair stank in the Grand Final and got dragged. Jetta stank in the Swans semi against Norf and got dragged. Seems a reasonably fair swap. Jetta probably the better player right now but Sinclair might have more upside. As Jetta was looking for the trade West Coast had the whip hand and we have not been dudded too badly. Sinclair can fill in for Reid when he is next injured so we have not done too badly. Overall reasonably happy.

Very happy with this deal. Like for like in terms of what each side needs going forward.

Everything happens for a reason and I think getting Sinclair is certainly a bi-product of that statement. We were killed in the ruck this year and we certainly are going to be much better with a proper around the ground ruckman.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Let's hope he does. If he's winning games for them, they'll love him. That's the nature of that kind of bigotry: the colour of your skin doesn't matter just so long as you're on the same football team. If Adam Goodes signed on to WCE and won games for them they'd love him too. That uncomfortably large minority of WCE fans who gave Adam such a hard time are basically childish, intensely parochial and uneducated. Let's hope Jetta can carry the torch that Adam lit into WA. Some of those fans might even reflect on the motives for their previous ugly chanting and booing. Although I think there will always be a rusted-on group who will accept a Jetta or a Goodes only as long as they're playing for their team. That's the nature of small-minded, parochial, self-interested groups - and there are plenty of those in WA.

You'll see, Rohan will play HB next year and Newman will be a good player and he likes to take the game on. It will be fine.

Hopefully we will have a spare pick in the 40s and try to pick up a key defender in the draft or trade.

Anyone know if we can trade our future second round pick for a second round pick this season?

Don't know (don't recall that being one of the restrictions they included when they announced it), but if we can there wouldn't be a shortage of clubs willing to do that deal. This draft seems to be viewed as considerably weaker than what next year's is shaping up as, so if it's allowed and we are getting desperate for extra points for this year's bidding, I'm sure they'd do it.

                              Sure can.

Jetta/Sinclair deal a bit biased towards WCE but gets it out of the way, should have given us pick 38, just for the points!

Hopefully now Jetta is out of the way we can get other deals done, including some cunning pick swaps to net us more ND points for Mills and Dunkley.

If your idea is to accumulate points, there's not much reason, as dipping into next year's draft for points bypasses the first round.
